December 10 will mark the three-year anniversary ofCyberpunk 2077’s market debut. CD Projekt Red’s latest RPG had an exceedingly rocky release, not least because of the severe technical issues that it exhibited on the last-generation consoles. Those difficulties even prompted Sony to delist it from the PlayStation Store for a time, while Xbox kept selling it with a problematic performance disclaimer. CDPR recently revealed thatfixingCyberpunk 2077set it back over $125 million.
The RPG came a long way since its buggy beginnings, with its comeback being underlined with the recent release of thecritically acclaimedCyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertyexpansion. A new physical edition of the game for the current-generation consoles has now appeared on the site of Dutch retailer Coolshop, as first spotted by Reddit user YMHNaiken. Although the listing doesn’t explicitly mentionPhantom Libertyor the Ultimate Edition label that leaked online earlier this month, the fact thatCyberpunk 2077was never treated to a physical release for the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S does suggest that this newly surfaced product might be the complete version of the dystopian RPG.
The European retailer is already accepting pre-orders for this unannounced version ofCyberpunk 2077, which is priced at €45.95 and listed as a November 30 release. The emergence of the premature listing dovetails with a PEGI rating forCyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Editionthat surfaced online in early October. Provided that version of the game is indeed on the horizon, there is no reason to assume it won’t be treated to a global release, even if both of its recent leaks came from European sources.
A complete version of CDPR’s latest game has been rumored for nearly a year at this point, although the original report suggesting such a release is in the works described it as aGame of the Year Edition ofCyberpunk 2077. There has so far been no indication that this rerelease will be coming to PC.
That notwithstanding, the prospect of CDPR releasing a complete version ofCyberpunk 2077wouldn’t exactly be an unprecedented move for the studio, as all of its past AAA RPGs have been given similar treatment. The first two entries in theWitchertrilogy were hence treated to Enhanced Editions, whileThe Witcher 3:Wild Huntreceived a so-called Complete Edition some 15 months following its May 2015 release.
