After the initial teaser released duringStar WarsCelebration a couple of months ago, a new full trailer forAndorhas dropped to give fans some better insight into what the series’ setting will be like and confirming its late September release.

The new footage was shared during Diego Luna’s visit toGood Morning Americaon Monday, along with a new promotional poster forAndorand makes ample usage of the show’s cinematography toportrayAndoras a promisingStar Warsstory.Andorof course focuses on its eponymous character, Cassian Andor, who was first introduced in 2016’sRogue One, which to this day stands tall as one of the best-regarded films made by Lucasfilm during the Disney era.

Andor’snew trailer, however, reveals that the series’ scope will expand beyond its protagonist as many other characters show up to provide the right amount of synergy with otherStar Warscontent, though Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen will probably steal the limelight for many here. The show will also suffer a small delay now being pushed back to September 21, when it will drop on the streaming service with a 3-episode premiere that will then move on to weekly releases to complete its first season’s 12-episode run lasting until late November.

Among the familiar faces seen in the trailer is Forret Withaker’s Saw Guerrera, who was last seen in animated form inThe Bad Batch, though there still seems to be plenty ofAndor’sown origins thrown in there for good measure.Andor’sfinal look also seem quite different from otherStar Warsshow on Disney Plus, since Tony Gilroy and the group of directors that worked on the series mostly opted for more traditional scenery and effects, rather thanThe Mandalorianand MCU’s cutting edge tech.

One thing to keep in mind is that withThe Bad Batch’ssecond season set to drop on September 28,Andor’ssmall delay means Disney Plus will bestarved of newStar Warscontent during August, a strategy that differs from the recent decision of givingObi-Wan KenobiandMs. Marvelparallel runs on exactly the same day. Unlike the latest two spinoffs,Andoris confirmed to be getting a second season, which means executives are confident in the show’s success from the start.

The writing inAndorwill be keyto establishing the show as another solid spinoff, with Tony and Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler) being joined by Beau Willimon (House of Cards) and Stephen Schiff making a good argument for fans getting a new refreshing take on the franchise.

Andorwill premiere on Disney Plus starting July 18, 2025.
