GameMill Entertainment releasedNickelodeon All-Star Brawljust recently, but modification support has already rolled out. One modder is making efforts to turnNickelodeon All-Star Brawlinto the nextSuper Smash Bros. Melee.

Modder NyxTheShield has released and shown off a handful ofNickelodeon All-Star Brawlmods on Twitter that improve aspects of the combat. The modder has introduced some of the essential mechanics fromSuper Smash Bros. MeleetoNickelodeon All-Star Brawl. NyxTheShield has added dash dancing in order to improve the mobility of theNickeloden All-Stars.

Anther mod from NyxTheShield removesNickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s Jostle mechanic which makes characters collide with each other when they’re not actively fighting. One of their mods also adds weight to attacks inNickelodeon All-Star Brawldue to alterations to hitlag calculations. According to NyxTheShield, doubling the hitlag calculations made the combat optimal and the footage showed combat very similar toSuper Smash Bros. Melee.

NyxTheShield isn’t simply modding gameplay aspects ofNickelodeon All-Star Brawlas their mods are extending to the audio as well. Thanks to progress with external OGG files, the modder is working on voice modding in order to differentiate characters better. The video that NyxTheShield made to show off the audio improvements focused on SpongeBob and showed that they could repeatedly make the Nickelodeon character laugh.

NyxTheShield is also a developer and composer himself, working on projects such asTormented SoulsandUnderverse and Glitchtale. SomeSuper Smash Bros.fans may know NyxTheShield for their work on the now cancelled ProjectNX. ProjectNX sought to makeSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatemore appealing to long-time fans ofMelee, but it was cancelled due to receiving a legal letter from Nintendo.

TheNickelodeon All-Star Brawlmodder is actively working on mods for hitstun cancelling and jumping platform drops to further make the game likeSuper Smash Bros. The base version ofNickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s hitstun shares moresimilarities withSuper Smash Bros. Brawlthan any other fighting game, but NyxTheShield is working to make it more likeMelee. Gamers who were looking forward to the release of ProjectNX may see the changes they wanted forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateimplemented inNickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

According to NyxTheShield, their distaste for the basic mobility inNickelodeon All-Star Brawlis what inspired them to mod the recently released fighting game. They have an overall dislike for the base version ofNickelodeon All-Star Brawlbased on expectations ahead of its launch, but the ability to mod the game is improving it in their eyes. NyxTheShield has made aDiscordserver that allows him and otherNickelodeon All-Star Brawlfans to share tips on modding and the mods themselves.
