Due to the coronavirus pandemic, at one point many Nintendo fans were concerned about the developer’s release schedule for the second half of 2020, even though Nintendo assured shareholders that itsSwitch games were not impacted by COVID-19. Since then, many new titles have been announced for the latter portion of the year, including September’sSuper Mario 3D All-Starsas well as the upcomingPikmin 3 DeluxeandHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

With the release dates for these two games coming up soon, it makes sense that Nintendo would be offering more information in a collective package to ensure as many fans as possible see both. One of the last major Treehouse Live events took place in July. During that stream,Nintendo showcasedPaper Mario: The Origami Kingand announced WayForward’sBakugan: Champions of Vestroia. While audience receptions toHyrule Warriors: Age of Calamityhave been mostly positive,Pikmin 3 Deluxehas fostered a little more controversy. Some fans expressed disappointment thatPikmin 4was not announced instead, and Nintendo was criticized forbriefly removingPikmin 3from the Wii U eShopafter its enhanced port was unveiled.
That being said, both games having time in the spotlight should give Nintendo fans more of a chance to gauge how they feel about each release — though no details are provided as to how long the Treehouse Live will be in its current listing on Nintendo’s website.
