There are two advanced jobs inOctopath Traveler 2that don’t gain skills the way every other job does: the Inventor and the Armsmaster. Instead of spending JP to gain new skills and unlock support buffs, the only way to fully unlock these jobs is by finding items in the world and bringing them back to the job giver.

In the case of the Armsmaster, you need to find the six rusty weapons scattered across the world and bring them back to the blacksmith Porta in Gravell. Doing so will letany character inOctopath Traveler 2wield all the abilities of the Armsmaster.

Octopath Traveler 2 Porta

How to Find Porta

Before you can restore the rusty weapons or complete the Armsmaster job, you’ll need to find and speak to the blacksmith named Porta. Porta is in Gravell, which is the tier-three town of the Wildlands. You can reach the town by heading north from the Western Crackridge Wilds, but make sure your party can handle a Danger Level 45 first.Unlike the first and second tiers, the tier-three areas only ever have one danger rating.

Once you’re in Gravell, look for an NPC called “Debt Collector.” He’s standing in front of a door day and night, and you’ll need to knock him down. Your options include:

Octopath Traveler 2 Winterlands Sword in Stone

Unlike with other NPCs who block your path, the Debt Collector will permanently relocate to inside the smithy after you knock him out once and speak to the “Retired Blacksmith” NPC inside. Doing so will start the Side Story “In Search of the Divine Weapons.” After you bring the blacksmith a rusty weapon, Porta will restore itand give your party access to the secret Armsmaster job.

An important note is thatthe Armsmaster must have each Divine Weapon equipped to use each skill. If you equip a different weapon, the corresponding skill will be unavailable. Luckily, each skill has the weapon’s name in it, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding the right weapon if you make this mistake.

First, you’ll need to go left from the entrance to the Timberain Castle: Town Square area and take the stairs down. Follow the path north to encounter a guard standing in front of a green door. Like with the Debt Collector, you’ll need toknock out this Elderly Soldier with a path action.

Once he’s down, enter the room behind him and look for a doorway on the right wall. Head through and keep going right as your party walks behind the scenery. Eventually, you’ll end up on a balcony by the river. The Rusty Polearm is in a chest on this balcony.

The Shipwreck of the Empress is east of Crackridge Harbor: Anchorage, and it has a Danger Level of 48.

The Quicksand Gaol is a small area, but you’ll need to beat the Lord of the Sands boss to open the chest with the axe inside. On the bright side, killing the Lord of the Sands will also earn you an item you need to unlock a Hunter job license.

To reach the Sinking Ruins, you’ll need to start inthe Southern Nameless Village Traverse. Enter the large wetland, then look for the dock that’s at the western edge of the water. Follow the path up and then down to enter the Sinking Ruins dungeon. Once you’re in the ruins, keep moving west to eventually encounter the Behemoth.

The Behemoth:

If you manage to knock out the Behemoth for good, you’re able to open the chest behind it to get the Rusty Bow.

+160

Deliverance: deal Staff damage to one foe; damage is based on Elemental Attack, not Physical Attack

Seat of the Water Sprite

Compared to the other weapons on this list, the Rusty Staff is a breeze to collect. It’s in an optional dungeon called the Seat of the Water Sprite, but the Danger Level is 26 and there’s no boss to stop you.

To reach the Seat of the Water Sprite, head to the Borderfall areabetween Montwise and Flamechurch. Go to the east side of the waterfall bridge and take the two ladders down to the dock. From the dock, you can head north through the waterfall to enter the Seat of the Water Sprite.

Once you’re in the dungeon, head as far north as you’re able to until you spot a long ladder that goes down. From the base of the ladder, go south until you find the chest with the Rusty Staff inside.

Other Armsmaster Rewards

As you recover rusty weapons and reforge them into divine weapons, you gain access to the Armsmaster’s Support Skills. And since you don’t unlock Armsmaster skills with JP (just like the Inventor job), every character gets access to every Armsmaster Support Skill at the same time. They are:

Character deals more Critical hits on Broken foes

Character deals extra damage while at (or above) max HP

Character regains HP when Breaking a foe

Character gains Latent Powerwhen striking weak points
