OneOverwatch 2player posts a perfectly timed video of Tracer commenting that she’s on fire, while literally becoming engulfed in flames from an enemy attack. Even as fans wait for the PvE elements ofOverwatch 2sometime in 2023, the multiplayer side of the game provides plenty of unscripted and dynamic moments. With players in charge during these matches, the community has been able to post all sorts of content showing off incredible plays, strange moments, and even catch someoddOverwatch 2bugs or glitches in action.
Whether intentional or not,Overwatch 2players continue to take to social media or places like Reddit to post clips of moments that were hilarious or even downright amazing. Part of this stems from the diverse roster of heroes available to play as, utilizing a vast array of different abilities which sometime react in ways no one could predict, such as when aSoldier-76 player inadvertently hits their teammate Genjiwho dashes in front of an enemy player right as they’re about to be hit with Helix Rockets. A Reddit user named Classic_Swordfish_14 manages to capture a moment during anOverwatch 2match which likely can’t be replicated. While playing as the speedy character Tracer during a round of Control, the character makes a comment saying, “Who’s On Fire? I Am!” after some sort of killstreak. What makes this clip hilarious though is that just as Tracer is asking who is on fire, the character gets hit with dynamite from an enemy Ashe, instantly igniting her in fire.
The timing of the quote and then subsequently erupting into flames couldn’t have been more perfect, leaving many in the community impressed by the whole sequence. While the post has continued to rise in popularity, the event also left many a bit disappointed thatBlizzard removed the actual On Fire meter effect inOverwatch 2, sparking a constant debate on why it was never added back in by Blizzard. Fans remain hopeful that this mechanic will return at some point in the future, though for now, there has been no update from Blizzard on a possible timeframe.
Thankfully, sinceOverwatch 2is a live service title, Blizzard is always making changes and tweaks, so adding a new On Fire mechanic isn’t entirely out of the realm of possibility. In fact, there also seems to be no shortage of suggestions or wants for how Blizzard should continue to improveOverwatch 2. In fact, the most recent limited time mode calledBattle for Olympus has seeming not been a hit withOverwatch 2players, with many saying the challenges require far too much grinding for not great rewards and centering around a Free for All Mode isn’t the best option when 1 or 2 heroes are clear and away better picks than the others.
