AnOverwatchfan has decided to use theirGame of the Year Editiondisc as a pizza cutter. Blizzard launchedOverwatch 2in early access last month, and unlike other sequel launches where the original game is still playable, the new game has completely overwrittenOverwatch 1.Overwatch 2’s early access launch has essentially made it so the originalOverwatchhas ceased to exist, and so many gamers are left with discs that don’t really do anything.
Overwatch 2is a free-to-play digital release, and so theOverwatch 1disc no longer does anything. In the wake ofOverwatch 2’s launch, fans started doing outlandish things with theirOverwatch 1discs, like using it as a coaster. Multiple gamers haveused theirOverwatch 1disc as a pizza cutter, and now yet another individual has done so, but this time they used the specialGame of the Year Editionof the popular hero-shooter.

Reddit user TheSackofWea has posted an image of themselves using theOverwatch: Game of the Year Editiondisc as a pizza cutter to theOverwatch 2subreddit, amassing nearly 4,000 likes in the process. For those who may be unfamiliar with this version of the game,Overwatch: Game of the Year Editionoriginally launched in 2017, about a year afterOverwatchfirst launched, and it came with the base game as well as 10 bonus loot boxes.
The originalOverwatchwon numerous Game of the Year awards when it launched in 2016, but it seems doubtfulOverwatch 2will repeat that feat. Besides the fact thatOverwatch 2is in early access, the game has been hugely divisive since its early access launch.Overwatch 2reviews have been mixed, with praise for the core gameplay, but a lot of criticism levied at the monetization, progression, and more.
It’s probableOverwatch 2will improve with time, as Blizzard has plans to add new heroes, maps, game modes, and more to the hero-shooter. However, it remains to be seen if Blizzard will addressOverwatch 2’s monetization problems. It has reportedly sent out a survey asking for fan feedback aboutOverwatch 2monetization, though, so there is hope that future updates could bring positive change.
As far as futureOverwatch 2updates go, fans can count on Season 2 dropping next month, and in the meantime, they can look forward toDamage hero Meireturning to the game soon. Mei was disabled for a limited time due to a bug tied to her ice wall ability, but she is expected to return toOverwatch 2as part of the game’s November 15 update.
Overwatchwas available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
