Overwatchhas managed to entertain fans for over four years through its expansive hero roster and entertaining multiplayer shooter mechanics. The game has also kept fans through frequent updates andevents such as the annualOverwatchAnniversary, yet some issues in the title appear to be overlooked. A player has now posted about an issue that was originally reported two months ago and it is still damaging their experience and communication with teammates.
While many players have enjoyedOverwatchit has been suggested that the developer of the title,Blizzard Activision, is actively working on anOverwatch 2rather than adding to the longevity of the longstanding original. This will not surprise fans of the game, but many would still expect reported issues to be remedied and a player who found a problem with how the headset on the Xbox One works within the game has been disappointed by the lack of a response from the developer.

TheOverwatchplayer explained that the game will not let players know if their chat stops working and as a result, players will often be in the middle of a game when they realize they can’t communicate with their team. Naturally, this is annoying in a team-based game and the player has taken the time to find out why the issue occurs and how to do a less than convenient fix. Players will lose their chat function inOverwatchif they reconnect their headset after it has been disconnected while online. The game will indicate that players are still talking but communication will be essentially shut down and this issue seems to have been present sincethe introduction of the hero Echo.
The issue can be solved by resetting the console after a game is completed, but this will mean disconnecting from a party as well as breaking the flow of gaming. Players seem to think that a PC focus is part of the issue and why the problems console players are facing are not being addressed. Whilea lot of content seems to be arriving inOverwatch, many console players have been disappointed by the slow reaction to issues like this as well as the server issues that are impacting the quality of games.
There is no doubt thatOverwatchhas had an impressive shelf life and many players have been pleased with what the title has offered. Unfortunately, it seems that console players have become frustrated with their more recent experience. Many will hope that the issue is finally resolved so the franchise keeps its positive momentum before its highly anticipated sequel is released.
Overwatchis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
