Twitchhas clarified its recent decision to permanently ban controversial streamer Adin Ross, revealing that the move was a response to the content creator’s choice to feature hateful and unfiltered chat conduct during one of his broadcasts.Twitch banned Ross for the eighth and final timeon February 25. The 22-year-old has seen his fair share of controversies since he started streaming in 2019. Less than a year ago, Twitch handed Ross an indefinite ban over the use of “hateful slurs or symbols” sanctioned by the platform’s community guidelines....

“Surrender,” the latest episode of Hulu’sUnder the Banner of Heaven,slows the pace of its first two episodes. Instead, “Surrender” makes a slight shift in the series' focus and the slower pace actually allows the series to improve on one of the issues that appeared in its first two episodes....

Twitter user @tg_bomze has released a brand new tool that claims to take low-resolution, pixelated pictures and reverse engineer them into full, high-resolution images. Currently, the Face Depixelizer only works on faces, as the name suggests, and some viewers have decided to take this software and apply it to their favoritevideo game characters, with some hilariously disturbing results. Bomze originally announced the Face Depixelizer as a way to recreate and enhance heavily pixelated images, which some onlookers took a certain amount of issue with, considering how pixelating photos is a common censorship technique for protecting identities....

Whether or not a game should be open world or strictly linear is oftentimes a moot discussion, regardless of the game in question. If the developers deem there is enough of a plan to realize a living world full of detail, then an open-world adventure is on the way. If the narrative is better as a focused centerpiece, rather than one story among many side quests stealing the spotlight, then a linear adventure makes more sense....

It’s almost Summer Game Fest time, and with E3 being canceled, this event is now set to be the hub of summer video game announcements. Geoff Keighley kicks things off in style with his own opening ceremony livestream on June 8, followed by a number of smaller showcases like Double Fine’s Day of the Devs and the Devolver Direct. Just about every creature inPokemonhas some roots in a real-world concept. Many come from mythological concepts, such as Magikarp and Gyarados' roots in a Chinese story about a carp’s transformation into a dragon. Others are simpler, such as Vanillish’s basis in ice cream or Palossand’s imitation of a sand castle. Still, some Pokemon get their roots in other foms of culture, such as Kadabra carrying a spoon in recognition of the many human psychics who claim to be able to bend spoons with their mind....
