InPersona 5 Royal, Ryuji will take players to a fishing spot on July 6th, which can be revisited to play a fishing minigame for points and prizes. This fishing game is a prolific way for players togain a large quantity of Proficiencyquickly and can be accessed whenever Joker has free time.
The pond is found in Ichigaya,which can be freely accessed after the eventwith Ryuji. It rewards both proficiency and points based on the size or quality of the fish caught. These points can be used to buy better fishing rods, items for other parts of the game, or the ability to catch even larger fish.

Small Fish
With the basic fishing rod, Joker can only catch a few fish that aren’t going to be worth that many points. For any other fish, an upgraded Boilie will have to be purchased with points. These fish are:
Medium Fish
With the Medium Boile,Persona 5 Royalplayers can start fishing up larger fish. It’s also recommended to purchase a better fishing rod at this point since it will allow a few failed catches before making the minigame end.It is also recommended to read books on fishingfor the Third Eye ability. Large Fish
After getting the Large Boile, Joker can start fishing up some of the largest fish available inPersona 5 Royal. While there is one tier above, it only has a few specialty fish, making this thelast real tier of fishing capability reachable. These fish are:
Top-class Fish
These fish are known as Guardian fish and require purchasing the Suspicious Boile as well as only appearing during Night Time (appearing mid-day starting in January). Fishing during rain or snow will make the guardian fish appear almost instantly, but Joker’s proficiency needs to be 4 when it is raining or snowing or 5 during any other time. The rewards for fishing allowPersona 5 Royalplayers to either get some buffs within the game or up their fishing skill. This ranges from fishing rods to boiles to accessories and attacking items that canbenefit the Phantom Thieves during battles. The prizes for fishing are as follows:

Top-Class Boile
Allows the player to catch any fish aside from the Guardians.
6,000 Points
Lure Keychain
Accessory, increases critical rate in battle by 15% if the enemy was ambushed.
Umi Sachihiko’s Belt
Accessory, automatically inceases the attack power of the party member with it equipped at the start of battle.
30,000 Points
Fish God’s Badge
Accessory, automatically decreases the enemy’s accuracy, making them miss 50% of the time.
100,000 Points
