A Seven-Colored Shadow is a new Team GO Rocket Special Research inPokemon GOthat will become available on Thursday, June 17. It will continue the ongoing story of Shadow Pokemon and give players the chance to earn a variety of rewards, including a Super Rocket Radar. For those fans that would like a full rundown of all of the tasks and rewards that are featured inPokemon GO’s A Seven-Colored Shadow Special Research, one can be found in this guide.

To note, players that want to tackle A Seven-Colored Shadow must first completePoGO’s A Troubling Situation, a Special Research that was released back in 2019. To do that, fans must defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts, purify Shadow Pokemon, and more, and those types of activities are expanded upon in A Seven-Colored Shadow. With that established, here are details on the tasks and rewards that players will encounter as they work through the new Team GO Rocket Special Research:

Stage Rewards: 3,000 XP, 2,000 Stardust, Larvitar Encounter

Stage 6

Stage Rewards: 2 Silver Pinap Berries, 2,000 Stardust, 1 Lucky Egg

While many players will already be familiar with how all of these tasks are to be tackled, it may be worth taking a moment to clarify the progression that is established by A Seven-Colored Shadow. To put things simply, fans should begin this Special Research by searching for discolored PokeStops, where they canbattle Team GO Rocket Grunts inPokemon GO. These battles will ultimately give players access to Shadow Pokemon, which they can purify with Stardust and some Pokemon-specific Candy.

These fights will also reward fans with Mysterious Components, and six of those items can be combined to create aRocket Radar inPoGO. Players can then use the Rocket Radar to track down the various Team GO Rocket Leaders for Stage 4 of the Special Research, and they will need three of them in total. After defeating these three Leaders, fans will receive a Super Rocket Radar, which they will use to find Giovanni for Stage 5 of A Seven-Colored Shadow.

With all of this said, there are a couple of outliers among these Special Research tasks to be aware of. For instance, one of them instructs players to to battle another Trainer in the Great League, and that has very little to do with Team GO Rocket or Shadow Pokemon. Notably, the Great League is not currently available inPokemon GO, and thus the easiest way to complete that task is to initiate a battle with a friend.
