Spring is in the air, and while April showers bring May flowers,Pokemon GObrings its player base a brand-new, spring-themed event. The Spring into Spring eventjoins an event-filled month of Apriland will commence on April 12 at 10 am local time and will last until April 18, at 8 pm local time.The highly-anticipated event introduces three costumed Pokemon, special research tasks, enhanced shiny encounter rates for specific Pokemon, and the debut of a Legendary Pokemon in five-star raids. Many of the features are available throughout the event period, andPokemon GOplayers can receive a bonus Special Research line for completing the Special Research tasks by June 1.RELATED:Pokemon GO Dataminers Find Mega Evolution UpdateTogetic, Togekiss, and Lopunny will appear in the wild, wearing a pink flower crown, and their shiny variant will also be available. Guardian Deity Tapu Bulu makes his debut in five-star raids,following Tapu Lele’s introduction last month, and is a must-have for all players who enjoy bulky-type legendaries. Along with the event comes the usual perks such as 2x hatch candy, 1/2 hatch distance, 2x lucky egg duration, and Team GO Rocket Grunts packing more shadow Whismurs and shadow Exeggcutes in their parties. Other Pokemon will frequent the wild more often, including ones wearing a flower crown such as Pikachu, Eevee, and Buneary, and extra lucky players may stumble across a shiny version.

On April 16, for three hours, starting at 11 am local time and ending at 2 pm local time, players can find limited research tasks by spinning PokeStops. Completing these specialized tasks will trigger an encounter against Exeggcute, with the possibility of finding a shiny version. In celebration of the Alolan season, players who evolve their Exeggcute during the event will receive anAlolan Exeggcutorthat knows the charged attack Draco Meteor, a dragon-type move with 150 power. Several other Pokemon will be included in the event and can be found in the wild, including starting Pokemon Bulbasaur, Treecko, and Chikorita, and along with the event’s bonuses, players will also receive 2x catch XP.

Battle aficionados will be busy with the GO Battle Day: Beginner’s Paradise, a beginner-friendly event starting April 17. Players can enter thePokemon GOGreat Leagueand Little Cup and battle one another, and an exclusive avatar is up for grabs. A new Collection Challenge will allow everyone to build towards a prize pool of 2,000 XP, 2,000 Stardust, and an encounter with a Togetic wearing a flower crown. The eggs will contain special Pokemon, with Pichu, Igglybuff, Azurill, and Munchlax appearing in 2km eggs, Happiny, Togepi, and Exeggcute appearing in 5km eggs, while Chingling and Riolu will be exclusive to 10km eggs. The April event is packed with non-stop excitement and even includes new stickers to collect, making the Spring to Spring festival one that players will not want to miss.
