TheMagikarp Community Dayis on August 8th, 2020, as mentioned previously. It will run from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm in players' local times. If players purchase a Making a Splash Ticket, it will only be active during the Community Day’s active hours. This means that players will need to complete the tasks and claim the rewards within the six hours the event is running.

Players who don’t want to buy the ticket don’t have to worry about being locked out of the event, as the increased spawn rates for Magikarp will remain for all players during the event’s duration. In addition to there being Magikarp everywhere, players will be far more likely to find andcatch a shiny Magikarp. It is very easy to tell a shiny Magikarp from a normal Magikarp, as shiny Magikarp are a bright golden color instead of the red-orange of a normal Magikarp. Shiny Magikarp will additionally remain shiny after evolving into Gyarados.

It takes 400 Magikarp candies toevolve Magikarp into Gyarados. Because of this, players are encouraged to use their Pinap Berries to get the most possible candy as possible while stocking up on Magikarp. While this will certainly take a lot of time and effort, it is definitely worth it due to the power offered by Gyarados as well as its usefulness in gyms and raids.

Whether or not players want tobuy a Making a Splash Ticketis purely up to personal choice. The exact tasks aren’t known yet and likely won’t be known until the event begins. However, the rewards offered will likely make the daunting task of evolving Magikarp just a bit easier as well as other helpful benefits.
