On Reddit, a user by the name of pentagonium has pointed out that the new Phantump Mask doesn’t have covered eyes or mouth, resulting in the player being able to see their in-game avatar staring back from underneath the garb. The mask, which costs 250 gold coins, is depicted in the official artwork as having covered eye sockets so the player character isn’t visible.
The replies to the post seem to agree that thePokemon GOcharacters don’t look quite right when the Phantump Mask is equipped, although some players have suggested wearing sunglasses to help darken the area around the eyes. In a separate event a few years ago, Niantic released a Pikachu-themed Pumpkin Mask that covered the trainer’s face, so it is possible that the missing eye sockets are a glitch and will be patched later.
Whether or not the mask is glitched remains to be seen, however, Niantic has come under fire from fans with the newParty Play feature inPokemon GO. The new addition to the mobile game allows up to four players to team up and complete various tasks and raids as a team, but gamers have already raised concerns that they are no longer able to follow Routes if Party Play is active.
Despite the current in-game issues, particularly surrounding Party Play and Routes, trainers still have a lot to look forward to inPokemon GO. As mentioned, there are several Halloween events that are currently running, and thePokemon GOCommunity Day for November has been confirmedto feature Wooper. From 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time on Sunday, November 5, players will be able to encounter both Wooper and Paldean Wooper and have an increased chance of catching their rare shiny forms.
Pokemon GOis available now for Android and iOS.
