The nextPokemon GOCommunity Day is upon us, and during this event, trainers will be able to get their hands on a lot of Slowpoke, the dopey Water/Psychic-type from the Kanto region. Galarian Slowpoke will have increased spawns, too, which is the variant fromPokemon SwordandShield’s Galar region. Not much is different about this Slowpoke, except for the fact that its tail and top of its head are yellow.
Slowpoke Community Day Times
Like otherPokemon GOCommunity Days, thisupcoming Slowpoke event starts on March 18 at 2 PM local time and runs for three hours, ending at 5 PM the same day. However, there’s still stuff to do even after the three-hour period comes to a close.

Slowpoke Community Day Research Tasks and Rewards
By heading to the in-game shop inPokemon GO, players can purchase theField Notes: Slow and Slower ticketto access optional Special Research. Remember that these tasks must be completed within the event’s three-hour timeframe to reap the rewards; otherwise, the dollar spent on the ticket will go to waste. The ticket can also be gifted to friends.

These Timed Research Tasks will be available to complete until 10 PM local time on Saturday, March 18.
Evolving Slowpoke
Folks will want to evolve as many Slowpoke as possible during the event to complete the Slow and Slower tasks.
Typically,Slowpoke evolves into Slowbrowith 50 Slowpoke Candy, and Galarian Slowpoke evolves into Galarian Slowbro with 50 Candy, but players need to have Slowpoke as their Buddy and then catch 30 Poison-type Pokemon. However, from 2 to 10 pm on the community day, Galarian Slowpoke will evolve into Galarian Slowbro by catching Psychic-types instead of Poison.
And to evolve regular Slowpoke into Slowking, players need to have 50 Candy and a Kings Rock evolution item. And to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking, players need to have the Slowpoke as their Buddy and catch 30 Psychic-types.
Can Slowpoke be Shiny?
The regularKanto version of Slowpokehas had its shiny version available already, but this event will be the first time that Galarian Slowpoke and its evolutions can be shiny.
