Long-time fans of thePokemonfranchise may be happy to learn that the soundtrack forPokemon Red and Blueis available via select streaming services. However, listening or downloading it may be a little tricky.
Pokemon’s music has come a long way over the years, although several themes remain prevalent to this day. The original chip music of the games started it all, and many of its original songs remain memorable even now, like Victory Road’s theme or the disturbing sounds of Lavender Town. Now, these songs and the rest of the soundtrack for the originalPokemontitles have been shared with fans.

The soundtrack is available stream now through the Japanese Pokemon Sound Library website. Viewers of the site can actually stream it or download it directly, and the Pokemon Company has stated that the music can be used in non-profiting projects freely. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have access to the site. While there was aPokemon Sound Library available to the west, it’s since been shut down. Unfortunately, the Japanese version of the site is region restricted, so eager fans will either need to be located in Japan or use a VPN to access the website.
However, there is a way for western fans to enjoy the official soundtrack nonetheless, without troubling themselves with a VPN.The Pokemon Companyhas uploaded the entire soundtrack to YouTube in a single video, which isn’t restricted to a single region. Unfortunately, this means that western fans are limited to streaming the music through this service instead of being able to download it, but fans will probably enjoy the opportunity to listen to it anyway.
This is just a fraction of thePokemonnews that was announced recently, with reveals ofnew titles likePokemon Sleepand expansions of others, likePokemon Scarlet and Violet, being revealed. Not every fan was impressed by the reveals during the Pokemon Presents event, but chances are these additions to the franchise will ultimately add new songs and remixes to the series.
There are plenty of elements that go into making a game successful, and the soundtrack is just one of them.
