Each species of Pokemon can learn a variety of moves, whether it’s through leveling up or TMs. Most of a Pokemon’s TM pool will consist of moves that match the Pokemon’s typing. However, there are TMs that can only be used by Starter Pokemon. These are: Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon, and for the first time, they’re available as TMs inPokemon ScarletandPokemon Violet.
Prior toScarlet & Violet, Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon could only be learned via Move Tutor. Furthermore, the Starter Pokemon needed to have max friendship with its trainer. There aren’t any Move Tutors in Paldea, so if trainers are looking to teach these moves to Meowscarada, Skeledirge, or Quaquaval, they will need to find their TMs.

TM155 (Frenzy Plant), TM153 (Blast Burn), & TM154 (Hydro Cannon) Location
TM153 to TM155 can all be found in the same cave. Thanks toScarlet/Violet’s open world, getting these TMs fairly early in each player’s journey is possible.
The TMs can be found in acavenortheast of Glaseado Mountain. If players have discovered Montenevera, they should take a Flying Taxi to the mountain village and thengo northeastto theorange flag icon in the above image.

Most of the Pokemon on Glaseado Mountain are Ice-type and around level 40. It’s an ideal area to fill out some Pokedex entries or search forthe Ghost/Dark-type Spiritombalong the way.
Scarlet/Violetplayers will realize they’re getting closer to their destination when they reach the foot of the mountain. Go right and up the ledge to find the cave entrance. Inside, there arethree yellow Poke Balls, each one a TM.
Should You Learn Frenzy Plant/Blast Burn/Hydro Cannon?
Once players have obtained the Frenzy Plant/Blast Burn/Hydro Cannon, they can nowcraft them at the TM Machine. Players will need the following materials and League Points to get more than one of each TM:
1400
Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn, and Hydro Cannon are all Special moves, meaning their damage output is calculatedby the user’s Special Attackstat instead of Attack. They deal 150 damage, and each have a PP total of 5 (max with PP Max/Up: 8PP). Just like Hyper Beam, Frenzy Plant/Blast Burn/Hydro Cannon are recharge moves, meaning they will waste a turn to “recharge” if used successfully.
Since they’re all Special moves, they’re best used on a Meowscarada, Skeledirge, or Quaquaval with a decent-great Special Attack. AsScarlet/Violetreleases more Starter Pokemon into Paldea, others will be able to use TMs 153-155, such as the Fire/Flying-type Charizard andthe Fire-type Cinderace.
