Red Dead Redemption 2gives players a look at adifferent side of Jack Marstonthan was seen in the original, but the kid can be something of a punk. That is definitely the case here in Redditor TheBrogDaddy92’s discovery, in which little Jack is playing a prank on Uncle.
Jack Marston is young and innocent for the most part despite his hanging around the Van Der Linde gang for his entire childhood. The members of this gang, Arthur included, do their best to shield him from the realities of their world, and it seems that his playful nature has survived inRed Dead Redemption 2.

In the screenshot found below,Marston can be seen tickling Uncle’s nosewith a feather while the latter is asleep, presumably giggling to himself the entire time. This doesn’t seem to wake Uncle up, but is a fun little interaction which provides some more depth to Jack as a character.
TheBrogDaddy92 shared this discovery on Reddit yesterday to positive reception, with many finding the incident funny. Moments like this in games tend to help make the world and the characters feel alive rather than just being robotic NPCs, but withgames as large asRed Dead Redemption 2, they can often go unnoticed for years. Of course, it is likely that others have seen this before but simply didn’t post about it online, but the discovery is fun nonetheless.
This game’s map is absolutely massive, as is evidenced by thecomparison betweenRed Dead Redemption2’s map andSkyrim’s map, so there are no doubt more subtle moments like this hidden throughout the game. Character interactions like this don’t add anything to the story per se, but they do add depth to characters and their relationships with each other. Games likeFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeare particularly good at this, as they manage to make even unnamed background characters feel alive, as though they inhabit a real world.
There may well be other similarinteractions between Jack and the rest of his family, so players that enjoy these sorts of things may find it worth it to hang around them a little more, just watching how they interact with one another.
