Remnant: From the Ashesis one of the surprising success stories of the past year. The game received relatively little attention prior to launch, but in part due to a wave of attention from Twitch streamers, is now a popular choice in the co-op multiplayer community — and Gunfire Games isn’t done withRemnantdevelopment yet. During Saturday’s PC Gaming Show, Gunfire Games revealed its second premium DLC forRemnant,Subject 2923,launching on August 20.
The focus of the Subject 2923 DLC will be to bringRemnant: From the Ashes' storyto its natural conclusion. The DLC is a direct continuation of the base game’s campaign and will explore the origin of The Dreamers and how they’re connected to the Root. The remaining Root must be taken care of and the source expunged.

As far as specific content included inSubject 2923, Gunfire has provided a list. It’ll include two unique new zones, including an abandoned military base and a snowy, mountainous landscape on the world Reisum. There will be new quests, bosses, weapons and modifications, trinkets, armor sets and skins, and so on. It sounds like a very substantial DLC in terms of story-based and progression-based content, and the Survival, Adventure, andHardcore modeswill be updated, too.
Subject 2923will be the second DLC forRemnantsince its launch in August 2019. First came theSwamps of CorsusDLC, which was well-received but perhaps not as substantial as some would have liked. Hopefully,Subject 2923will scratch the itch thatRemnantplayers want. Especially, because apparentlySubject 2923will be the game’s final DLC.
TheSubject 2923DLCdoesn’t have a price point yet, unfortunately, but theSwamps of CorsusDLC cost just $9.99, so hopefully,Subject 2923will stay at that price point too. Alternatively, for new players, there will be a new complete collecting launching alongside the DLC. ThisRemnantcomplete collection will include both DLCs and will be available on all platforms.
WithSubject 2923being announced asRemnant’s final DLC, fans are likely to be asking what comes next for Gunfire Games. The studio was acquired byTHQ Nordicin 2019 alongside the launch ofRemnantafter the studio’sDarksiders 3was surprisingly well-received. It’s possible that a newDarksidersgame could be in the works. The studio clearly has the potential to do great things.
Remnant: From the Ashesis available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
