Despite it being almost 11 years old at this point,The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis still enjoying the spotlight in the gaming world. In fact, it wasone of the best-selling video games of May this year, continuing its reign as one of the most successful Western RPGs in history. Its impact is so great that it transcends the actual game world itself. Many fans pick up their art instruments and utilize Bethesda’s open-world epic to inspire them in their creative endeavors.

That’s precisely what one Reddit user did recently. Posting to theSkyrimsubreddit, BassClefCat215 has shown a splendid watercolor painting of one particularly interesting character. Those who are very familiar with the game, especially theDragonbornDLC, will immediately recognize the image as that of the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora, sometimes referred to as “Herma.” While a very dark character in the game itself, this artistic interpretation is somewhat brighter, yet is still the unmistakably tentacled shape of this “keeper of knowledge.”

For those who are perhaps less familiar,Hermaeus Mora is one of the most interestingSkyrimNPCs, and they are technically neither good nor evil. They reside within a plane of Oblivion, theElder Scrolls’version of hell, in a place called Apocrypha. Their distinctive tentacles are what are used to siphon knowledge, which does so from a mortal being, killing them in the process. As a little peak behind the curtain, it was discovered that this character is not technically the one that talks. Given the way the game was built, Bethesda actually created an Orc character with the same name, who sits outside the map and is the one to deliver all of Mora’s dialog.

As for the painting that BassClefCat215 has shown off, there are many fans of the games, and of the series in general, who love nothing more than to bring aspects from Tamriel to life. ManySkyrimplayers are prone to demonstrating their artistic prowess, which is understandable given how the game has some breathtaking scenery and notable structures.

It’s partly for this reason that the game is still so popular all these years later. WhileBethesda is concentrating on finishingStarfield, manySkyrimfans would love to know what’s happening withThe Elder Scrolls 6. A decade is a long time to wait, and nothing has been mentioned officially about the next installment in the long-running RPG franchise since the teaser video that was unveiled back in 2018.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
