One Piece’s Worst Generation refers to the group of pirates who debuted during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc with a bounty exceeding 100 million berries, along with Blackbeard and Luffy. Over the two years since then, the Worst Generation have continued to make waves across theOne Pieceworld and some, such as Blackbeard, have even risen to positions such as Yonko.

10Eustass Kid
Eustass Kid is the Captain of the Kid Pirates and an incredibly powerful pirate. When it comes to smartness, however, Kid isn’t all that great.
He rushes into things, as expected of his hot-headed personality, and, at the same time, needs Killer by his side to help him make the right decision. It goes without saying that Kid is not the smartest character out of the Worst Generation.
9Monkey D. Luffy
The Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy is the protagonist of the story and a fearsome pirate capable of taking on the likes of the Yonko in battle. Just like Kid, however, Luffy isn’t the smartest of pirates.
Luffy does pick up things very quickly in battlesand is a genius when it comes to fighting, which can’t be said for Kid. Luffy is also very mature and knows which fights he has to fight and which ones aren’t his to fight, as seen when the Akazaya Nine launched their attack on Kaido.
8Scratchmen Apoo
Apoo is the captain of the On-Air Pirates and has a bounty of 350 million berries on his head. He’s quite a cunning pirate as he betrayed Kid, Hawkins, and Killer in favor of Kaido. Having already set an elaborate plan into motion, Apoo got them captured.
What’s more, Apoo was smart enough to grasp where his chances of survival lie better and he worked accordingly.
7Killer
Killer is the right-hand man of Eustass Kid and the brains of the Kid Pirates.He’s an extremely smart person who knows how to find the best way for his crewto proceed with the least obstacles. Killer keeps Kid in check and is smart enough to figure out plans for him.

Killer was the man responsible for the alliance with Apoo and Hawkins, although the alliance ended in failure. What’s more, Killer also figured out how Apoo’s Devil Fruit works quite quickly, showcasing his smartness in the process.
6X Drake
Another North Blue pirate like Hawkins, X Drake is a member of the secret unit of the Navy called SWORD. Drake is quite powerful and also very smart. He made the whole world believe that he went rogue as a Navy Rear Admiral and infiltrated the Beasts Pirates.
Given that infiltrations are common in theOne Pieceworld, Drake should’ve been an easy suspect no matter where he went. However, he managed to keep his identity a secret for a long time, which goes to show that he’s quite cunning.
5Basil Hawkins
Basil Hawkins is a pirate from the North Blue who is currently working for Yonko Kaido. Hawkins is quite a skilled fighter, but his biggest strength is his strategic mind. Hawkins is extremely smart with his usage of the Wara Wara no Mi.
In his fight against Killer, he was smart enough to use Kid’s life against him. Against Law, he used the lives of Bepo, Sachi, and Penguin. Hawkins also gave up when Kaido attacked because he knew that was the better choice to make while Kid and Killer continued to fight.
4Jewelry Bonney
Jewelry Bonney is a pirate from the South Blue and the captain of the Bonney Pirates. Although very little has been seen of her so far, Bonney is smart enough toknow how to trick others using her Devil Fruit. Using her wits, she managed to escape the grasp of the Celestial Dragons not once but twice.

What’s more, Bonney also managed to sneak into Mariejois without anyone detecting her presence.
3Capone ‘Gang’ Bege
Among the West Blue’s greatest pirates, Bege comes from one of the Five Families of the West, which are powerful mafia organizations. Known for taking out mafia bosses and watching their organizations crumble, Bege is a very tasteless human. As a pirate, he’s done the same and riled up several crews against him by taking out their captains, only to defeat them all at once by gathering them up.
Bege was smart enough to seek refuge under the name of Big Mom. Meanwhile, he tricked the entire pirate crew into trusting him and rose to the position of Rook when his true goal was to kill Big Mom all along. Bege even figured out that Mother Carmel’s portrait wasBig Mom’s weakness.
2Trafalgar Law
Also known as the Surgeon of Death,Trafalgar Law is the Captain of the Heart Pirates. Unlike his allies, Luffy and Kid, Law is extremely smart. He was the mastermind behind the Rocky Port Incident and because of that, he gained the Shichibukai position. He then used the position to get to Punk Hazard, where he formed an alliance with Luffy.
Law manipulated Smoker into sending an Admiral after Doflamingo and used the Straw Hats to get his revenge on the Shichibukai. What’s more, his clever strategies caused a lot of trouble for Doflamingo and eventually led to his downfall.
1Blackbeard
Marshall D. Teach, also known as Blackbeard, is one of the most fearsome pirates in the world ofOne Piece. He’s one of the Yonko and thus possesses great power, however, he’s equally sharp. Not only did he plan to take over Whitebeard’s position since forever, but he also succeeded in doing so.
Blackbeard used the position of Shichibukai to gain crewmates from Impel Down and thenused the Summit War of Marineford to get his hands on the Gura Gura no Mi. He’s already planned his way to becoming the Pirate King, making him one of thesmartest characters inOne Piece.
