Fans have wondered when they would see more of the substance, and eventually the antagonist that it becomes when it has a parasitic host, sinceMarvel’s Spider-Manpost-credits teaseof the alien symbiote. Now, withMarvel’s Spider-Man 2officially announced, fans have finally received a look at what Venom will look like, at least from a shadowy close-up shot.
Marvel’s Spider-Man andMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Moraleshave both been influential and iconic in their own rights, with each game inspiring other iterative works from fans. Custom controller designs are not uncommon forInsomniac Games’Marvel’s Spider-Man, particularly because they only exist on a single platform family between PS4 and PS5. Today, a fan has shared a custom controller creator’s work assembling a PS5 DualSense that takes inspiration fromMarvel’s Spider-Man 2’s teaser.

FieldSuperb942 has shared a montage clip of a custom PS5 controller being dissected, spray-painted, and modified to feature a customSpider-Man-themed design. FieldSuperb942 is not the controller’s creator, however; Alessandro Vincenti is responsible for it, having originally shared it as a purchasable accessory. Vincenti currently has one other custom controller for the Xbox Series X/S, though thisSpider-Man-themed PS5 controller is unique.

Vincenti’s PS5 controller is directly inspired by theMarvel’s Spider-Man 2announcement teaserthat debuted at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase in September, where Insomniac revealed that Venom will appear. The custom PS5 DualSense controller has two symmetrical sides with web patterns, but one side features white webbing on red while the other side features red webbing on black. Each side then represents Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s protagonists, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, respectively.
But what distinguishes the controller as a customMarvel’s Spider-Man 2design is the inclusion of Venom’s jagged eyes and sharp teeth from the teaser being inked and painted onto the DualSense’s touchpad. Lastly, Vincenti finishes the custom piece with aimless paint spatters. The result features a brilliant red, white, and black color palette with just enough iconography to signify it as inspired byMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Vincenti’s storefront marketplace claims that this custom controller, which is available for purchase at 130 Euros, also has “maximum resistance to sweat, scratches, and sunlight.” Some fans are concerned about the custom work wearing off after inevitable use, though it is unclear exactly what “highest quality products” are used and whether or not consumers may be able to apply their own varnishes to ensure the controller has a prolonged shelf life. Regardless, it seems to be an impressive product thatcreatively representsMarvel’s Spider-Man 2.
