Summary
The upcomingStar WarsseriesAhsokaon Disney Plus seemingly features one of the worst-kept secrets in franchise history. Many have been assuming a certain character would appear in the new series, and the most done to dissuade those rumors has been to only leak the character’s involvement a few times. Now, this appearance is further cemented in a new merchandise blurb.
Along with the recent reveal of the lore behindAhsoka’s new Inquisitor villain, the info river appears to be in full deluge mode. It’s already known thatAhsokawill star Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, the former Jedi and occasional behind-the-scenes hero of the Rebel Alliance. Taking place during several periods, theStar Warsseries notably appears to jump between the post-Return of the Jediera ofThe Mandalorianand the pre-A New Hopesetting of the animated seriesStar Wars Rebels. As such, it features several characters from that show and is even touted as a continuation of it. But apparently, it won’t be the only previous story to lend its characters to the cause.

A listing on Amazon for newAhsokamerchandise caught the eye of Reddit user Alcida-Auka, who posted it to theStar WarsLeaks subreddit. Several new products have been revealed as tie-ins to the new show. But the real prize is in the copy underneath each one, which seems to reveal the presence of Anakin Skywalker as part of the upcoming series. “Stop looking for fashion help in Alderaan places! Add a little out-of-this-world style to your wardrobe with some truly epic officially licensedStar Warsgraphic tee shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies! Transport yourself to a galaxy far, far away with cool new apparel featuring Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Anakin Skywalker, Mon Mothma, and all your favoriteStar Wars Ahsokacharacters!”
It seems cut and dry here, as every other character listed has been officially revealed to be part of theAhsokaseries. But while it could technically be explained away as just listing a popularStar Warscharacter, it tracks with stories from over a year ago regarding evenDawson leaking Hayden Christensen’s return as Anakinon the new show. Funnily enough, while leaks like this keep coming, it seems Disney and Lucasfilm haven’t been trying all that hard to stamp them out. So at this point, the real surprise would be if Anakin doesn’t show up via flashbacks or as Darth Vader himself.
It would frankly feel completely wrong ifAhsokadidn’t feature Anakin in some way. Ahsoka’s history is indelibly tied to Anakin, as the latter served as the former’s Jedi master when she first joined the order. This led to them forming a close bond of friendship and camaraderie, particularly throughout the Clone Wars. That connection remained, even after Anakin fell to the dark side and became Vader. So while they did interact to a point inStar Wars Rebels, there’s still plenty that should be said between them. That’s not even mentioning thereal-life connection between Dawson and Christensen, who share a history as acting classmates.
Lucasfilm has yet to confirm Anakin’s appearance onAhsoka. It should also be noted that the merch blurb appears to have been changed, removing the reference to the character. But again, this “rumor” is unofficial in name only. Between the leaks from actors and now from the new (albeit temporary) merchandise copy, Christensen fans may want to strap in for some quality emotions.
