The Hidden Path Plays an Important Role in Star Wars

Star Wars’Hidden Path was an underground network that spent its time protecting Force-sensitive individuals from the Empire. Its members worked tirelessly to smuggle Jedi and anyone who could utilize the Force out of the Empire and gave them new identities. They operated throughout the galaxy from many hidden locations and will eventually make their base of operations onStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’sTanalorr, at least it seems.

The Path was first established by Kawlan Roken after his Force-sensitive wife was hunted by the Inquisitors. His only appearance so far was inObi-Wan Kenobi, but he plays a very important role during this era. He spent much of his life smuggling Jedi from the Empire, and would end up fightingalongside notable characters like Obi-Wan. Thanks to his efforts, the Path would spread throughout the galaxy.

The Path would expand to multiple planets including Mapuzo, Jabiim, andthe holy moon of Jedha. It would also recruit an assortment of characters from across the galaxy to help protect as many Force sensitives as it could. Former Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos, Cere Junda, Eno Cordova, Merrin, and various characters fromObi-Wan Kenobiwould all become vital parts of the network. While many would perish in the line of duty, they would all go out fighting for what was right.

The Hidden Path has not appeared much in theStar Warsfranchise, but that does not make it any less important. The idea for it was created during the creation ofStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and it would be introduced to live-action throughObi-Wan Kenobi. It was there thatObi-Wan and Princess Leiaused the Path to escape to Jabiim, only for a tracking device to lead Vader right to them. It was a riveting expansion of theStar Warsuniverse that ultimately resulted in devastation for one of the Path’s many bases.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivorfocuses on the Path’s Jedha baseand the people that operated from it. Cere is hoping to rebuild the Jedi archives within its halls alongside Eno Cordova, but it also ended in destruction. The Empire discovered the base, broke through its defenses, and Vader struck down its protectors. It was one of the most exciting set pieces inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, and helped show the desperation in the fight against the Empire.

The Hidden Path is probably one of themost interesting additions toStar Warsin recent years, and hopefully, it gets more time to shine. This organization helped protect and save countless Force-sensitive individuals from the Empire, but the franchise has yet to explore it in its entirety. With the number of projects in the pipeline, hopefully one of them gives the Hidden Path the attention it deserves.
