Starfieldplayers will need to deal with numerous Starborn guardians as they make their way through the Buried Temple. Most of them can be dealt with fairly easily, though as they near the final Artifact, players will find their path blocked by Guardian Fionn and an army of endless duplicates.

Some players may instinctively drop back toward the elevator in order to prevent themselves from being surrounded, but this would be a terrible mistake. That’s because Guardian Fionn prefers to hang back rather than attack the player head-on, forcingStarfieldplayers to go on the offensive.
How to Beat Guardian Fionn at the Buried Temple
One important thing to note about the Guardian Fionn fight is that the duplicates that he summons will use the same weapon as the player, so it’s a good idea toswitch to a melee weaponas soon as the fight begins. This way, providing they keep moving, it will be easy for players to avoid taking damage, allowing them to focus their attention on tracking down Guardian Fionn by keeping an eye out for the blue quest marker.
Fionn typically spawns toward the back of the cavern, often on top of the large rock stalagmites rising out of the ground. He too uses a melee weapon, so once players get close enough, he’ll typically charge in, allowing players to get in quite a few attacks of their own. If players chose toside with the Hunterand completed the Infinity’s End mission earlier then they can use The Last Priest to deal decent damage when this happens. Otherwise, they should use their strongest melee weapon.

Depending onwhich skills the player has unlockedand the difficulty level they are playing on, Fionn can absorb quite a bit of damage, particularly if players opt to go down the melee route. It’s possible to speed things up a little by temporarily equipping a powerful gun or rifle, though players should only do this after pinpointing Fionn’s exact location and should be prepared for the duplicates to begin shooting as soon as they do.
After beating Guardian Fionn, all of the duplicates will disappear and players will be free to head through the door at the back of the chamber to meet up with the Hunter and the Emissary. If they decide totake on the final boss fight rather than skip it, equipping a melee weapon can again be a good idea, as there’ll once again be duplicates involved. In fact, it’s arguably even more effective this time around, as the final boss(es) will be the only ones shooting, making it much easier to pinpoint their exact locations as they teleport around.
