How to Repair Ships in Starfield
Starfieldfeatures two key ways to repair damaged ship parts. The first,Ship/Repair Parts, allow the player to immediately fix any issues as they spring up during battle. Players can also use these parts to repair the ship outside of combat, but given their relative scarcity, the second option may be better for out-of-combat repairs.
The second option is to have the ship repaired by the Ship Services Technician. These helpful NPCs can be found on the edge of most activecity spaceports inStarfield. The player will come across the first technician very early in their playthrough, as they service the ships that land in New Atlantis.

How to Find and Use Ship Parts in Starfield
Ship parts can usually be found in two ways: purchasing and plundering. Only certain types of merchants carry ship parts, so the player will likely have to spend time in each city locating a reliable source. Plundering tends to be a much more reliable method of acquiring these essential parts.
Plundering Destroyed Ships for Repair Parts:
The most common method of acquiring ship parts will also be the method with the highest yield. Whenever the player destroys an enemy ship, there is a good chance that ship parts will be in the remains. Always make sure to take them.
Sometimes, the player will actually rescue another ship in distress, and one of the rewards the player can choose from is repair parts. This is a great way to get bonus parts through battle.

Where to Purchase Ship Parts:
Finding a merchant that sells ship parts can sometimes be tricky. In New Atlantis, the only known vendor that offers these parts is Jemison Mercantile, which is found directly inside the city after entering from the spaceport. Look for the building with a large JM and Jemison Mercantile on the front. Inside, the person at the front desk will be available to purchase items from. The player can find seven ship parts in the Aid section. These cost 1250 credits, without any Skill taken into account. If the player has anylevel of the ‘Commerce’ Skill, the price will be adjusted accordingly.
Another example of the type of merchant who will carry spare parts can be found in Akila City, in the Cheyenne system. Following the main story will lead the player here during the Sam Coe storyline. When entering the town, the player will have to head through a long corridor. Turning left immediately after exiting will lead the player to Shepherd’s General Store, which carries four Ship Parts.

At the moment, it is unclear when and if the merchants inStarfieldresupply their wares. This guide will be updated when the information becomes available.
Another important tool for finding merchants in any given city is the information kiosk, which can be found in Akila City just past Shepherd’s General Store. These information kiosks display information on important places in each city, including businesses. Store’s that appear to offer a broad selection have the best chance of carrying Ship Parts.

How to Use Ship Parts:
When a ship has taken damage during combat, the HUD will immediately announce it to the player. When this happens, press the RS to use any available ship parts. These work similarly to the medpack, restoring the hull slowly over time.
If the player still has a damaged ship when they land, they can either use Ship Parts for repairs by entering the Ship section of the menu, or by paying directly for repairs.
