A player has revealed a strange bug fromThe Last of Us Part 2, showing Ellie flying in the middle of a river. The bug even seems to end the player’s permadeath run inThe Last of Us Part 2.

The Last of Us Part 2was extremely controversial upon its release. After the story was one of the most universally beloved elements of the original, several narrative decisions made with the sequel split the fan base. Time has been a healer for many players, and the story seems to have aged better after the initial shock of some of the braver plot choices made by Naughty Dog has worn off. Until apotentialLast of UsPart 3is confirmed, fans can only continue to speculate what direction Naughty Dog should take with another sequel while continuing to discuss the other games.

The clip of Ellie was posted to Reddit by user zebradolken, who asked for help fixing the glitch in their permadeath run. Unfortunately, it seems the only solution is to reload the save to the nearest checkpoint, which is disabled while playing permadeath. If the player never found a solution, it’s possible that this run is dead for good. Players of the game always seem to be finding new bizarre ways to fail permadeath runs, with another player dying simply missing a rope jump inThe Last of Us Part 2’s permadeath mode.

The bug is definitely one of the stranger ones found in the game, though others are found from time to time, in bothThe Last of UsPart 2and the original. Some are certainly stranger than others, with one oddThe Last of Us Part 2glitch even showing a bird flying out of an enemy’s body. The games aren’t going anywhere and retain an active player base, so it’s likely that plenty more strange odd bugs will be found in years to come.

BothThe Last of Usand its sequel are experiencing a huge spike in popularity due to thesuccess ofThe Last of UsHBO TV series, which will only make it more likely for more glitches to be spotted. Fans have waited long enough to see the series adapted, as a film adaptation from Sam Raimi was first announced in 2014, which never came to fruition. With fans everywhere praising the show, it seems to have been worth the wait. As well as this, HBO has already confirmed that Season 2 is on the way, so it’s likely thatThe Last of Us Part 2will also be receiving the adaptation treatment. As far as the games go, a multiplayer-focused entry in the series is currently in the works.

The Last of Us Part 2is available on PS4.
