Every season ofStranger Thingshas introduced new characters, delved deeper into Eleven’s (Millie Bobby Brown) background, and shown The Party fighting evil in Hawkins, Indiana. When the popular Netflix TV series returns for season 5, it seems that these three things will still be true. One season of the popular TV show featured a character named Dart who has an important place in the overall story arc.
WhileStranger Thingsfans wait for new episodes, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the past four seasons and some of the most engaging and riveting parts. Dart is a memorable character with a proper introduction and ending. Here’s all there is to know about Dart inStranger Things.

Who Is Dart In Stranger Things?
Dart is Dustin Henderson’s (Gaten Matarazzo) Demodog pet in season 2 ofStranger Things. His full name is D’Artagnan and he comes from the Upside Down in Hawkins, Indiana. Of the manymonsters inStranger Things,Dart is often seen as the sweetest and most charming. However, as season 2 moves toward its conclusion, Dustin and his friends realize that Dart is just as dangerous as the rest of the creatures that they have been in contact with.
Dustin becomes attached to Dart right away. When he finds Dart in a garbage can in his home, he decides to take him to school. This causes some hilarious chaos as Dart escapes. Dustin doesn’t want anyone to know that he has taken in the Demodog as a pet, and he keeps this a secret.

While there are somescary scenes inStranger Things, Dart seems perfectly innocent at first. This is definitely why Dustin feels so comfortable taking him in as a pet. Dart is a significant part of season 2 ofStranger Thingsbecause he gives Dustin something concrete to care about and focus on. When compared to the other young characters, Dustin is particularly sensitive and caring.
Dart is also an important part ofStranger Thingsbecause he allows Dustin to become a strong, confident person who makes different decisions from his friend group. Dustin is given a few of his own storylines, including his relationship with his camp girlfriend Suzie Bingham (Gabriella Pizzolo) in seasons 3 and 4. Both Dart and Suzie allow Dustin to develop some independence, which is meaningful since he is part of such a big friend group.
Watching Dustin find and then take care of Dart is as entertaining as seeing Dustin and Steve Harrington’s (Joe Keery) hilarious and moving bond form. While their beloved friendship is really cemented in season 3, it’s present in season 2, and Dustin looks out for Dart the way that Steve always tries to protect him. Fans can’t get enough of the great characters in the Netflix show, and someStranger Thingscharacters deserve spin-offsbecause they are so interesting and entertaining. Steve is one of the funniest characters thanks to his sweet dynamic with the younger Dustin.
What Happens To Dart In Stranger Things?
There are many mysteries in Stranger Things, includingwhether Eleven created the Upside Downand how Dart’s storyline ends. Dart dies in the season 2 finale ofStranger Things, and while he’s revealed to be scarier and more dangerous than he seems to be at first, it’s still sad to watch. In episode 9 of season 2 called “Chapter Nine: The Gate,” Eleven closes the gate to the Upside Down, and the Demodogs pass away, including Dart.
According toCinemablend.com, Ross Duffer spoke about what happened to Dart inStranger Things. He said, “I would say Dart has unfortunately perished. Spoiler alert. Yeah. Once the gate gets closed, he’s cut off and so he died by his beloved Three Musketeers Bar.”
Stranger Thingsfans have many questions about theUpside Down, including why it’s stuck in 1983. This scene proves, once again, that the Upside Down is one of the most terrifying places in Hawkins and that Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is right to have such traumatic memories of the time that he spent there. Anyone can die in the Upside Down, whether they are a Demodog or one of theterrifying Vecna’s victims.
While it’s sad for Dustin to lose the pet that he has become so attached to, Dart’sStranger Thingsdeath is another reminder of the evil secrets hiding in Hawkins and how much suffering the characters see on a regular basis. Dart’s death is also complicated and shows Dustin that it can be possible to love someone or something that has also caused others pain. Even though the Demodog Dart only appears in season 2 ofStranger Things, he’s a huge part of these nine episodes, and he makes Dustin realize that loss and grief are unfortunate and tough parts of growing up.
