Tales of Symphonia- Remasteredis an updated port of the PS3 remastered version - which launched as part of the Chronicles collection. Players that upgraded from the original GameCube version will find that the initial controls have changed. However, the remasteredTales of Symphoniafeatures the same button layout as the PS3 and PC versions when using a controller.

As seen withTales of Symphonia’scharacter-switchingmechanics, the title’s in-game instructions fail to explain how to use such features. This is also the case withTales of Symphonia’s Unison Attacks. There is a point where the game tries, but it’s not explained well, so activating and using them in combat can be tricky.

He will inform Lloyd about fighting as part of a team. This event will activate the Unison Attacks. A brief explanation appears with a tutorial on using these attacks, but it’s too short and confusing without performing and seeing them in action.

However, because of the small time frame players have to activate these attacks, they shouldset their favorite Techs to the face buttonsand not worry about the directional-based attacks until they get used to the speed and reaction times needed in theearly stages ofTales of Symphonia.

Setting Unison Attacks

Each character is assigned their own Unison Attack button. The leading characterwill always be set atX on the PlayStation, A on the Xbox, or B on the Switch. The remaining party button assignments will depend on their position in combat. Activating these attacks is similar to pulling off a Tech attack.

After the lead character has hit their Tech attack, the next character is up, and the player needs to trigger the next Tech by pressing their assigned face button. The sequence will continue until all characters have used their Tech attacks or the time has expired. To set up Unison attacks in the menu, follow these steps:

Keeping things simple, players should assign their favorite Techs to the first optionwithoutdirectional buttons. This will make stringing attacks easier until the player is used to the required timing for more advanced attacks pressed with theD-Pad and face button combined.
