Playstation owners have recently been relishing their ever-expanding list of exclusives, even as the industry wrestles with whether to scrap the idea of console-specific game releases in the future. Take, for instance, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Released in January of this year, it already has a modest 36% discount, offering players a savings of $18. While not every game comes with such steep discounts, Playstation gamers can save on some of the most popular and recent titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Payday 3. Xbox Game Pass may make it more affordable than ever to play new games on day one, but some of the biggest game titles are still released with a price tag attached. However, with titles like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor being marked down by over 20%, gamers will have the chance to save on AAA games during Amazon’s Spring Sale. Players who would prefer not to join Game Pass often have great luck finding individual titles at an absolute steal. Resident Evil, one of greatest series in gaming history, has been on a remastering spree in recent years, most of which are available on Game Pass. Thanks to that availability, gamers looking to pick up only their utmost favorite iteration can do so at a discount. During the Spring Sale at Amazon, Resident Evil 2 is 50% off, saving players a whopping $30.
Other games are just as lucratively priced, such as the intensely fun Hotwheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, which is only $30 and features over 100 awesome and, at times, utterly absurd racecars. One of the best deals available to Nintendo fans comes in the form of Just Dance 2024 Edition, which is nearly 60% off at $25 during the Spring Sale. Just Dance is on sale often, but it may be a while before it’s on sale again, given its current steep discount. Should I Purchase A Video Game During the Amazon Spring Sale?
With frequent sales through Humble Bundle and Steam, many gamers will wonder whether they should spend money on the Amazon Spring Sale. For video games in particular, the choice is fairly nuanced.
How new is the game? Is it a title that’s never on sale, or one that’s only rarely seen such steep discounts before? If a player has really been wanting to play a game and the Spring Sale on Amazon is offering the title at a price within that person’s budget, it’s probably a good idea to take advantage of the discount.
However, it’s almost guaranteed that better deals will arrive during summer sales and in October for Prime Day. Anyone willing to wait that long to pick up a new video game should probably keep holding out. Of course, most games are, at most, discounted by 60-75% during even the best sales of the year. If a player sees a game they want at 60% off or more, they’re probably not going to get it for any cheaper later in the same year and should just buy it through this Spring Sale.
