The full trailer for the upcoming filmSnake Eyeshas been released and it’s jam-packed with action. TheParamountmovie is based on and inspired by theG.I. Joeseries. Snake Eyes was the commando in the series, and ultimately held a lot of mysticism and hidden knowledge within his character. The film will reveal more of Snake Eyes' backstory and explore the complicated dynamic between him and Storm Shadow.
Snake Eyes was one of the most popular characters fromtheG.I. Joeseries, so it makes complete sense that the film would choose to center the narrative around his storyline. His popularity with fans seems to stem from the mystery that he holds and his innate loner status from the rest of the Japanese clan. However, the backstory behind Snake Eyes would be incomplete without the character of Storm Shadow. Storm Shadow is the heir ofArashikage and Snake Eyes is only welcomed into the clan as a result of him saving his life.

ActorHenry Golding has been cast as Snake Eyesand previously talkedbout why the two characters' unfolding relationship is so essential to the film. He said to Collider, “This relationship never sort of ends and sort of peeling back those layers and discovering more. And that’s the great thing about the origin story is we get to see the basis and to see why it’s so emotionally charged for both of these characters and at what point does it turn.” It would be very hard to tell just how emotionally charged the film is based on the new trailer alone, but at least fans get a sense of how dangerous Cobra, a fictional terrorist organization and frequent foe of the G.I. Joe team, will be to the titular character.
Snake Eyesseems to be the type of movie that will be evenly balanced when it comes to action and dramatic scenes. Of course,theSnake Eyestraileritself is going to showcase the electrifying battle scenes to get fans excited. Comic writer of the originalG.I. Joeseries, Larry Hama, promises that the theme of brotherhood and loyalty will make the action-packed sequences that much more powerful. The theme of honor and loyalty is also present in the new trailer, as Snake Eyes' allegiance is tested by the terrorist organization Cobra.
The goriness of bloody knives and the infamous Katana sword from the series makes the battle scenes in the trailer all the more thrilling. The trailer also showcases the immense skilltheSnake Eyesactorshave in terms of the stunts and physical training that they have undergone for the film. The quote from the trailer that summarizes the essence of the film reads, “I can’t change your past, but I can offer you a purpose.”
