As long-time players will already know, expansion packs forThe Sims 4typically add new game mechanics in Create A Sim and build mode. TheSims 4: High School Yearsis no different, and players can expect to get more build/buy items for their building needs after installing it.

The teen years for sims are all about discovering identities, likes, and showcasing talents. One way players can do this is by decorating their teen’s rooms and purchasing skill-building items. TheSims 4: High School Yearsbrings almost everything a teen could want in build/buy mode, and it is one of the first packs to include itemstailored to the curved wallsthat are now in the game.
Build Items
Wallpaper and Flooring
High School Years has new wallpapers, paint, and bricks for players to use on their builds. They’re geared towards teens, so bright colors and intricate designs are highlighted with some of the options and all the high school architecture comes in the pack. In total, the pack includes eight new wallpapers and one flooring option.
Doors, Gates, and Fences
There are a few residential fence and door options, but most of them are used for building the Copperdale high school. Players areable to completely customize the high school lotwith these and base game items. There are also doors designed specifically for the curved walls included in the pack. In total, the pack includes seven doors, two gates, and three fences.
Windows and Wall Decorations
There are curved windows as well as some interactive windows and trellises. Sims can now enter or exit using the EZ Window and, if it is set on a second story, they can use the trellis to climb down. In total, the pack includes five windows, one wall decal, and four trellises.
Buy Items
Beds and Seating
Sims now havemore bed and chair optionsthan ever before. Teenagers can have the bed of their choice for pillow fights that come with funky bed frames or the ultimate gaming chair for streaming. Players can also find the cafeteria seats and classroom chairs. In total, the pack includes ten beds, 17 chairs, and four couches.
Appliances and Plumbing
The buy categories that got the least amount of additions are the appliances and plumbing. Three trash cans and three food and beverage vending machines make up the appliances and, for plumbing, there is a new stalled bathroom and one sink.
Decorations and Misc.
TheSims 4: High School Yearshas manydecorations and environmental items. This is where players will find items that teen sims can use to really express themselves. These categories consist of 88 items including curtains, rugs, wall decorations, clothes racks, mirrors, lockers, dolls, and sculptors.
Activities and Skills
The new pack introduces clubs and jobs such as cheerleading, football, and video game streaming. Players can use the following DLC exclusive items to build these skills:
The pack also includes more items for fun activities, including six radios, two chess boards, one mic, and two photo booths.

Storage and Shelving
From bedside tables to bookcases, there are plenty of storage and shelving items that come with the pack. These can be used for things like holding smaller items and setting lamps or handhelds on. In total, the pack includes 13 tables, seven desks, 16 shelves, 12 dresses, and four bookcases.
Lighting
Lastly, there are 16 lights that come with the new pack. Players can use the new LED lights or the softer fairy lights to create a vibe in their Sims' bedrooms. There are also more subtle options for wall lights orattention-grabbing ceiling lightsfor those who want to make an impression.
