Sims can only knit while they’re sitting down, so the player must have either placed down a chair, a bench, a sofa, or even a bed where the Sim can sit and relax.

Alternatively, Sims can also learn the Knitting skill with another Sim. If a Sim has reached Knitting skill level 5, they can teach other Sims how to knit.
