Summary
Much like any other multiplayer game that gets frequent updates, theDead by Daylightecosystem is a fairly fragile one. With new playable characters, new Perks, and new add-ons being added at a pretty consistent rate,Dead by Daylight’s metais constantly in flux, and the game’s continual updates and patches only serve to change the meta more. When this is the case, it’s always a good idea to have a clear set of rules that the community can follow regardless of how balanced everything is at that point in time.
Almost every facet ofDead by Daylighthas its own set of unwritten rules attached to it. These rules aren’t set in stone, but they’re a great set of clear guidelines that long-time players use to keep everything fair and enjoyable for everyone. Naturally, then, a lot of these unwritten rules center aroundDead by Daylight’s Killers, and the behavior that’s both expected and frowned upon by the wider community. With Blight being one ofDead by Daylight’s most powerful Killers, there are a few big rules that players are simply expected to follow in order to make sure that the match remains fun for everyone involved.

Don’t Use Blight’s Power to Tunnel Unhooked Survivors
A good rule for just aboutanyDead by DaylightKilleris to not tunnel. This means that Killers shouldn’t be gunning after just one player for the duration of the entire match. That’s especially true for Blight, whose ability unfortunately lends itself to this type of gameplay. With the ability to dash across the entire map within seconds thanks to his ability, Blight can be over at one side of the map, and then suddenly right back at the hook within seconds of the Survivor being taken off it. Many Blight players then use this opportunity to tunnel the injured Survivor, which manyDead by Daylightplayers agree is a bit of a scummy move.
Don’t Ignore a Chase as Blight
Generator and map management are some of the most important aspects of playing as the Killer inDead by Daylight, and for many playable Killers, this can be pretty tough to get right. Blight’s ability lets him sprint across the entire length of the map within mere seconds if used correctly, but this shouldn’t mean that players just camp the generators. Blight’s ability is inherently made for chases, and he’s most fun to play as and play against when he’s participating in them.
Try Not to Create an Absurdly Overpowered Blight Build
This is a common unwritten rule for all ofDead by Daylight’s S-Tier Killers, and that’s a section that Blight has recently found himself in thanks to some pretty infamous buffs. While most other Killers are getting constantly nerfed, Blight seems to be one of the few still getting little buffs, and it’s become more important than ever for Blight players to not create a build that’s too toxic.
Thanks to the buffs, Blight now has access to some absurdly overpowered add-ons, the most obscene of which completely recharge his ability after managing to hit a player just once during a dash. Of course, Blight players also have access to a whole bevy of Perks as well, with a good few toxic combinations available to them. While it’s obviously fine to useDead by Daylight’s best Perks with Blight, players should try not to make their build too impossible to counter, as that can easily lead to some irritating matches for the Survivors, and boring ones for the Killer.

Dead by Daylightis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
