Currently, Traveller’s Tales is working on the next game in its LEGO franchise,LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It will bring together the entire Skywalker Saga into one game, with nine different movies all being recreated with LEGOs. The game will serve as the definitiveStar Warsexperience and will bring with it some of the biggest changes to the LEGO formula. After it hits store shelves,Traveller’s Tales will be looking to what comes next, and it should consider making a sequel toLEGO Jurassic World.
LEGO Jurassic Worldlaunched in 2015 alongside the firstJurassic Worldfilm. It adapted theJurassic Parktrilogy and the firstJurassic Worldmovie in fun-filled LEGO fashion. However, since its release, there has beentwo moreJurassic Worldmovies, one of which is releasing this June, as well as a short film and a four-season long Netflix show. That is hours ofJurassic Parkcontent that has not yet received a LEGO adaptation, and Traveller’s Tales should rectify that.

What LEGO Jurassic World Looked Like
LEGO Jurassic Worldreleased in 2015 and brought players to fully explorable LEGO versions of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna. They are able to explore both theJurassic ParkandJurassic Worldversions of Isla Nublar. They would then play through 20 different levels based on theJurassic Parktrilogy andthe firstJurassic Worldfilm, and each movie had five levels associated with it. As they progressed through the story, gamers would unlock iconic characters like Ian Malcom, Owen Grady, and Dr. Alan Grant as well as the real-life directors Colin Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg.
One of the best aspects ofLEGO Jurassic Worldwas the ability to unlock and play as the dinosaurs. In certain areas around the hub worlds, players could take control of one of over 20 different dinosaurs and cause havoc. They could play as a Triceratops, a T-Rex, a Stegosaurus, and even the Indominus Rex. Using the character creator, players areable to create their own hybrid dinosaursjust like the owners ofJurassic Worlddid.

The story ofLEGO Jurassic Worldutilized full voice acting from the movies, but Traveller’s Tales had to change the plots of each movie to make them more kid-friendly. Instead of characters getting eaten by dinosaurs, they would get injured. Various scenes from the movie were also changed to be more humorous, like the addition of a Velociraptor drawing a smiley face on a window. It was chock-full of the typical LEGO humor that makes people of all ages laugh.
What LEGO Jurassic World 2 Could Look Like
Since the release ofLEGO Jurassic World, theJurassic Parkfranchise has seen a host of new content. Not only didJurassic Worldreceive two more movies, but Netflix launched an animated show calledJurassic World: Camp Cretaceousand a short live-action film was released calledBattle at Big Rock. Hours of content has been added to theJurassic Parkfranchise canon that has yet to be explored in LEGO fashion, and ifLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Sagacan adapt the entireStar Warssaga, then aLEGO Jurassic World 2could adapt the entireJurassic Parkstory.
LEGO Jurassic World 2could take the hub worlds and mechanics of the first title but expand upon them using Traveller’s Tales new Hub world designs. Instead of offering a smaller scale version of Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna, Traveller’s Tales could create larger scale versions on the level ofGotham City inLEGO DC SuperVilliansand the planets inLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The game could also include the new islands fromCamp Cretaceousas well as the locales fromJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomand whereverJurassic World: Dominiontakes place. It could also expand dinosaurs so that instead of relegating them to small parts of the hub world, players could take full control of them and destroy the island.
The characters thatLEGO Jurassic World 2contains would be the same ones fromLEGO Jurassic World, but with an expanded roster that includes characters fromCamp Cretaceous,Fallen Kingdom, Dominion, andBattle at Big Rock. WhileJurassic Parkdoes not have the same number oficonic characters thatStar WarsorDC has, Traveller’s Tales will no doubt be able to find some to fill the roster.
With a huge roster of characters, levels based on the entireJurassic Parkstory, and drastically improved Hub worlds, aLEGO Jurassic World 2could be the perfect title forJurassic Parkfans. Using what Traveller’s Tales has learned over these past years, it could craft one of the best dinosaur games in a while and a worthy successor toLEGO Jurassic World.
