Summary
Two Indie developers have just unveiled the demo of aTwin Peaksfangame that uses PS1 graphics to recreate the famous TV show.Twin Peakswas an often mysterious TV seriesthat inspired games such asDeadly Premonition,Alan Wake, and others, so it’s not surprising to see it becoming a fangame.
Originally released back in the early 90s and directed by the famous David Lynch,Twin Peakswas a modern TV classic. The series originally lasted for only two seasons and often used surrealistic undertones to create a police investigation drama.Twin Peaks: The Returnwas a long-awaited return, which happened with an unexpected third season back in 2017, and since then, fans eagerly await more stories set in this universe.

Now, the BlueRose Team, anindie gameteam made up of two French devs, has released a demo forTwin Peaks: Into the Night. The game was mostly created as a homage to the TV show, and it follows the official story, with a few additions from the team. When trying out the demo, gamers will play as special FBI agent Dale Cooper as he investigates the death of Laura Palmer in the small town of Twin Peaks. The gameplay seems heavily inspired by old adventure games, and it comes with a few puzzles that players will need to solve in order to move on. The aesthetic, however, is spot on, evoking both Lynch’s style and 90s gaming graphics very well in its recreation of the small town in Washington.
According to the devs, they grew up inspired bythe influential works of David Lynch, such asTwin Peaks. The project can be downloaded by anyone and is fully free. However, only a short demo is available at the moment. Unfortunately, as expected for a fan project, there’s no clear roadmap for when gamers will be able to play the complete version ofTwin Peaks: Into the Night, which may take a few years to come out.
This is not the firstTwin Peaksgame, though.Twin Peaks VRwas released back in 2019as an escape room VR game that focused on puzzles set in several locations featured in the TV show. The title was not very well received, though, and was often criticized for its graphics, style, and uninteresting gameplay. So, people who want to play something similar to this new fangame may have more luck with something likeDeadly Premonitioninstead.
Twin Peaks: Into the Night’s demo is available right now for PC.
