Thanks to prominent streamer Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa,Twitchwill be seeing its first big event in a long time. Earlier this month, the bunny-rescuing streamerannounced Streamer Royale: a large-scale production that will be coming to Twitch this summer.
In early April, Siragusa announced on Twitter that she was going to “stop being an e-girl cold turkey,” and that she had invested between $350,000 and $400,000 inTwitchcontent. The streamer didn’t give any hints as to what “Twitch content” meant, but a few days later Amouranth and the official Streamer Royale Twitter account announced that she will be taking up the role of lead producer for the event, which will be broadcasted on May 28.

Amouranth’s Streamer Royale
Known as one of the streamers responsible for popularizing the “hot tub meta” on Twitch, this is the first time Amouranth has become involved in a bigger production. Taking up the mantle as lead producer and hostess,Twitch’s most-viewed female streamer of 2021has been keeping information regarding the Streamer Royale event close to the chest. While no official statement has been made regarding the nature of the event, the event’s name could very well be a hint as to what viewers can look forward to.
With the continuingpopularity of the “battle royale” video game genre, where upwards of hundreds of players battle it out within an enclosed map that often decreases in size until one person or team is left standing, it seems that Streamer Royale may fall in the same vein. The show, involving several prominent streamers, may have them battle it out in some type of elimination game where the last one standing will be crowned the champion.
Streamer Royale could involve a small- to medium-scale version of an in-person battle royale, where the participant streamers use paintball guns to ‘eliminate’ each other or play some sort of laser tag. However, Siragusa’s event could even be a type of elimination game show where the participating streamers go through a series of tasks akin to Japanese games show using a points system – the player with the highest score at the end winning some prize. Only a few participants have been announced as of this writing, with no other information pertaining to the event being publicly known.
So far, only four out of an unknown number of participants have been released withSuper Smash Bros.-esque announcement cards – all within the last two weeks. The first of the big streaming community names announced was moistcr1tikaL, followed shortly by the announcement of Jack Manifold. Then LilyPichu was added to the roster of prominent streamers who will battle it out in the summer, and most recently an announcement for Alinity joining the event was posted by the official Streamer Royale Twitter account. As of now, it seems thatAmouranthis not a participant in any form aside from her role as event hostess and lead producer.
A few weeks after the initial event announcement, it is only speculation as to what the true nature of Streamer Royale will be, where it will be located, or if it will be some type of exclusive pay-to-watch show. However, according to the language of some announcement tweets thus far, the event seems likely to become anannual show in the Twitch space. More information is expected to drop within the next few weeks asTwitchfans inch closer to the May 28 broadcast date.
