Season 7 ofApex Legendsis still a month away, but players may have already uncovered who the next playable Legend will be when it drops. While a new character is expected whenever a new season starts (for example,Season 6 introduced Rampart), the identity of the next one has left some fans somewhat surprised, as it’s not a character that had been previously leaked.
For context, the new character in question is called Horizon. She had actually been leaked before soApex Legendsplayers were well aware of her existence already. The reason why they’re shocked is because another leaked character by the name of Valk was believed to be the next to be made playable.

Following the newest update, which went live today, dataminers delved into it to uncover any new information and found several assets associated with Horizon, which very much seem to point to her being the next character.
Dataminer Biast12 shared three short videos they uncovered, all of which have Horizon Challenges in their name. None of them have any audio, but the third does feature Horizon herself, who appears to be addressing the player.
No details about Horizon as a character have been discovered, like her abilities or backstory, but her visual design does suggest she’s a scientist of some sort, possibly one specialized in machines or engineering, which could make her suited for a support or recon role. Biast12 also shared a badge with Horizon’s face on it.
Respawn has managed to throw fans' expectations for a loop in the past. For example, it initially advertised a character called Forge as Season 4’s new Legend, only forRevenant (the actual new character) to kill him in his own trailer. What’s more, more details about the aforementioned Valk have been revealed, namely her role as an offensive character and abilities. However, given that Horizon has assets related to her already prepared, as opposed to Forge, it’s less likely that Respawn is misleading fans with this one.
As far as official news goes, fans do have the new crossplay feature to enjoy. In fact, thecrossplay betabegan today, though players do have the option to opt out of it if they wish to stick to playing with other people on the same platform. Crossplay was supposed to become available alongside the Steam andNintendo Switch versions, but those are nowhere to be seen, with Respawn only stating that they are still being worked on. Hopefully, it will still release by the end of 2020.
In related news, a fewApex Legendsleakers have stated thatthe hotly demandedTitanfall 3is being developed by Respawn. Fans have been desperate for a third game in the series, especially with how muchApex Legendshas referenced it due to the two series being set in the same universe.
Apex Legendsis currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
