Back in June, it was reported that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment parent companyAT&T was interested in selling the companyand its associated studios, which would include the likes of Rocksteady and NetherRealm. However, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has released a letter addressing these concerns, indicating that AT&T may no longer be looking at selling off Warner Bros. Interactive and its studios.

In his letter, Kilar insisted thatWarner Bros. Interactive"remains part of the Studios and Networks group" led by Pam Lifford. It’s also worth pointing out that there were no major Warner Bros. Interactive layoffs in the company’s recent shake-up of executives, which could be another good sign that AT&T is planning to keep its Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment branch despite reports to the contrary.

When news broke that AT&T was reportedly interested in selling Warner Bros. Interactive and its associated studios, some big name publishers voiced their interest. This included the likes of Electronic Arts andMicrosoft, with the latter arguably having the most to gain from such an acquisition. Potentially, it would mean Microsoft securing theMortal Kombatfranchise as an Xbox console exclusive, though one has to imagine that it would have still released the games on other platforms as well, similarly to how it treatsMinecraft.

In the meantime, this month should be a big one for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. While the company’s plans for anE3 2020 press conferencewere canceled along with E3 itself, it’s set to be a part of the upcoming DC FanDome event on August 22. DC FanDome will be showing off DC’s upcoming slate of comics, movies, TV shows, and more, in addition to some new video games based on DC comics.

It’s already been confirmed thatRocksteady’sSuicide Squadgamewill be featured at DC FanDome, which is huge news since fans have been waiting since 2015’sBatman: Arkham Knightto see the next game from the studio. The game is reportedly still a long way away from release, so it remains to be seen just how extensive of a look fans will get at DC FanDome, but some are just happy to finally have confirmation about Rocksteady’s next project.

Meanwhile, reports have also indicated that thenewBatman: Arkhamgame from WB Games Montrealis also going to be at DC FanDome. This game will presumably be out much sooner thanSuicide Squad, with rumors pointing to it being about the Court of Owls storyline. However, fans will just need to tune in to the DC FanDome event livestreams to find out for sure.
