Multiplayer co-op action gameWayfinderwill get an exclusive beta on PS5 and PC next week.Wayfinderwas featured in the February 2023PlayStationState of Play alongside other upcoming titles likeStreet Fighter 6,Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,and a handful of new titles forPS VR2.
Wayfinderwas announced at The Game Awards 2022and is being developed by the studio Airship Syndicate. This studio was founded in 2014 by Joe Madureira and Ryan Stefanelli who had previously worked on theDarksidersseries while at Vigil Games. Since then, the studio has made a number of turn-based RPGs likeRuined King: A League of Legends Storyand even contributed to theDarksidersseries again by developing the spin-off titleDarksiders Genesis.Wayfinderwill be the studio’s first foray into the MMO genre and will be published by Digital Extremes, best known for developingWarframe.

TheWayfinderwebsite states that while next week’s beta will not be open to the public, players can gain access to the game’s Early Access launch in May by purchasing a Founders Pack. Although the pricing for these packs has yet to be revealed, players who purchase them will get access toWayfinder’s Early Access as well as some exclusive in-game items.Wayfinder’s Early Access will be available for PC, PS4, and PS5. Although the game will be playable through theEpic Games Store where new free games are now available,Wayfinder’s Early Access will not be available on the service.
Thestory and customization ofWayfinderseem to fall well in line with the games that appear to have influenced it, particularly legacy MMOs likeEverQuestandWorld of Warcraft. However, the emphasis on distinct playable characters and customization seems to have been borrowed fromDestinyandWarframe, both of which have experienced long-term success. With Airship Syndicate working in collaboration with Digital Extremes,Wayfinderis in a great position to have a successful launch, and players won’t have to wait much longer to see what it has to offer.
Wayfinderenters closed beta on May 17, 2025 for PC and PS5, and will enter Early Access in May 2023 for PC, PS4, and PS5.
