TheWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandsexpansion brought in many new characters and together with a plethora of old characters. Both new and old characters have been redesigned with fresh looks, especially for this new afterlife focused expansion. The artist PlexiCosplay cosplayed as one of the new characters, specifically Kryestia the Firstborne. Kryestia is the ruler ofBastion, a kingdom in the Shadowlandsunder the command of the Kyrian Covenant.
PlexiCosplay’s cosplay has completely impressed fans, complete with the blue skin from head to toe, which is the skin color of the Kyrian. The cosplayer wore white vestments with gold lines, together with handcrafted eye-catching wings. A unique design choice that was given to the Kyrian byWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandsdevelopers.

According to PlexiCosplay, the wings are 15 feet long, making it incredibly difficult to go unnoticed in cosplay events. The cosplay is quite accurate, as the Kyrians inWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandsalso have their wings in similar proportions. Although the wings were just reused from PlexiCosplay’s previous cosplay, it does not take away from the regality of her costume. It’s safe to say that players are excited toupgrade their Convenant gearafter seeing Plexi’s cosplay. The post has over 1.3K likes on Instagram as of Aug 04, 2025 as fans seemed to be impressed with the cosplay and how it was designed, especially with the big wings.
Fans of PlexiCosplay even made hilarious comments, like “Kyrestia flight 77 you are cleared for takeoff, proceed to runway 4” in reference to the ability of Kyrian’s to fly. WoW developers brought in a lot of new armor sets in this expansion. Some of thebest-lookingShadowlandsarmor setshave fans hoping for future cosplays. Hopefully, the cosplay community will pick this up in time for the next BlizzCon.
As the cosplay community praises the release ofShadowlandswith its new characters. It is also a sad time for the community as Jarod Nandin who cosplayed as the‘South Park Guy” has passed awayrecently from COVID-19. Nandin debuted way back on Blizzcon 2013’s cosplay contest as the South Park Guy fromepisode ‘Make Love Not Warcraft.” The cosplayer went on stage and perfectly recreated the character from the episode during BlizzCon.
The World Health Organizations advises everyone to stay indoors and even play video games to help avoid the disease. Unfortunately, evenCyberpunk 2077, also lost a fan to COVID-19before the game was released. TheWorld of Warcraftcommunity may have lost one of its iconic meme legends, but Jarod Nandin will not be forgotten for years to come.
