Now,World of Warcrafthas revealed the set bonuses for the Class Sets fans will find inThe War WithinSeason 1. Players will be able to obtain these pieces of gear by trading in tokens obtained from the Nerub’ar Palace raid, or by upgrading their existing gear via Catalyst charges awarded periodically by completing other game tasks. However, fans will have the opportunity to test out these sets soon, as they are planned to golive in theWorld of Warcraft: The War Within’s betaduring its second build.
In theforum post whereWoWcommunity manager Kaivax shared these Class Set bonuses, he also went into detail about the design philosophy behind them. Because of the complexity coming with the Hero Talents system inThe War Within, the set bonuses themselves are relatively simple.World of Warcraftis hoping to let the Hero Talents and class changes shine, with the Class Set bonuses as a light supplement to them.
One ofWorld of Warcraft’s biggest concerns with making these set bonuses is to avoid forcing each specialization to pick a particular Hero Talent tree. This means most ofThe War WithinSeason 1’s tier set bonuses buff each specialization’s core mechanics, rather than endgame talents or optional abilities. Sets in future raid seasons ofThe War Withinwill likely increase the complexity of these synergies, but with the goal of keeping every Hero Talent viable in the process, so that, ideally, noWorld of Warcraftclass is better than the others.
Once this gear is added to the test realms,players lucky enough to be chosen for theWoW: The War Withinbetawill be able to obtain a full set from Setzertauren in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. From there, they can provide feedback about the value of the set bonuses, how useful they are in different situations, or if there are any bugs with them, using the in-game interface, or on the forums themselves.
