In Phase Four forWoW Classic: Season of Discovery, the max level cap was finally raised to the vanilla max level of 60, and much of the classic endgame content has become available alongside. But to take on the revamped Molten Core Raid, Onyxia’s Lair, and othernew SoD endgame activities, you’ll need to level to 60 fast.
The fastest level-up methods forWoW SoDremain largely unchanged, with a few important new updates to SoD leveling. For example, Incursions have been turned into Daily quest hubs, so they are no longer the best XP farm. Still, there are plenty of ways to level up fastin WoW SoD P4– but if you don’t want competition, or don’t want to go back to Sunken Temple, your best bet might be to stick to Blackrock Mountain’s three dungeons.

Prequests, Student Fodder, & Rested XP
A Plethora Of Proper P4 Preparations
There are three major things you may do to prepare for Phase 4 before seriously jumping in. If you have not yet jumped into the new Phase, and have a bunch of leftover completed quest from Phase 3, take some time flying around to your various quest hubs to turn these quests in. With the launch of each new Phase one of the fastest level-up methods in WoW SoD is to pile on a bunch of pre-quests and turn them in as soon as the XP bar unlocks again.
But, if you didn’t pre-quest for SoD P4, there are two other things you can do to hasten your leveling journey: log out in a major city to gain Rested XP, and use Student Fodder to grant chunks of Rested XP for later use. Rested XP gives you twice the normal amount of XP when killing enemies, and if you leave your character logged out for a few days at a time, it can really rack up.

The new Student Fodder items grant about 20% of your Rested XP bar total, which works exactly the same way. These items don’t give you immediate XP, but instead double your XP from mobs until your normal bar meets the Rested XP bar, when it will return to 100%. If you know you will not be logging in for SoD Phase 4 over the course of a few days, consider logging out your character in a major hub to make the leveling journey even faster when you do come back online.
An item introduced in WoW SoD Phase 2, the Cozy Sleeping Bag has become something of a fan favorite, and one of the best ways to level up faster in WoW SoD. This nifty WoW SoD exclusive item places a sleeping bag on the ground that you, and any party members, can use to build a buff that gives a flat bonus to XP gained from all sources. Every minute you spend sleeping in the bag grants 1% bonus XP, up to a maximum 3%.

A 3% bonus to XP is not much, but at later levels when the grind to max level really starts to churn to a halt, every bonus helps. Be sure to liberally use your Cozy Sleeping Bag to get to max level as fast as possible, and offer it to your teammates in instance groups if they have not reached Level 60 yet, too.
Onceyou’re good and prepared, you’re able to head out to some newly available Phase 4 zones and other content. The Plaguelands, Burning Steppes and Searing Gorge, and Felwood and Winterspring tend to be great places to quest. But because questing can sometimes be quite competitive, you might be better off sticking to repeatable content like Incursions, Dungeons, and the level-up Raid.

Do Incursions & New Phase 4 Dailies At Appropriate Lvls
One of the most broken level up methods in WoW, let alone just WoW SoD, must surely have been Incursions. Incursions were something of a blessing and a curse for WoW SoD P3. It was incredibly easy to level up new characters and get hundreds of gold, but completely avoid doing any other content, leading many to feel burnt out from repeated runs of the same content.
But in Phase 4, Incursions have been changed to Dailies in all four quest hubs, without much of a change to their XP and Gold rewards. Though you can (and should) level up in the open world and dungeons while leveling from 50 to 60, each Incursion daily location still rewards about half a level’s worth of XP until Level 53. From Level 50 to 53, be sure to rotate in both Feralas and Hinterlands incursions every day for a huge chunk of XP for minimal effort.

At about Level 55, you will unlock Dailies for the Blackrock Eruption event. These PvE quests grant Reputation with the Thorium Brotherhood, reward lots of Gold, and of course, reward lots of repeatable XP. These can only be completed once each day, but just like Incursions, the total XP you get from a single round of Blackrock Daily Quests istoo good to pass up.
Complete Sunken Temple While Leveling For Big XP Gains
The raid for Phase 3 was the Sunken Temple, which in Phase 4 has become a level-up raid like Blackfathom Deeps and Gnomeregan were. BFD is a great level-up raid to do from 25 to about 30, Gnomeregan is great for leveling from about 40 to 45, and Sunken Temple is respectively good for leveling from about 50 to 55.
You will not only gain XP from killing normal enemies inside Sunken Temple (of which there are quite a lot), you will also gain a huge chunk of XP for every boss defeated. Depending on your level, this ranges from around 10% of your XP bar to higher than 20% for each boss killed. If your Phase 3 raiding group is still around, consider dropping by Sunken Temple every reset until you reach the late level 50s. In addition to the huge XP gains, you’llget a chance to collect itemsyou didn’t get while raiding in Phase 3.

…Or Just Find A Group To Spam Dungeons
Including BRD, LBRS, UBRS, Stratholme, and Scholomance
It’s perfectly possible to quest and take on traditionally open-world WoW Classic content to get to max level, but with the popularity of Phase 4, it’s next to impossible to get quest objectives done in certain zones. Questing is indeed great XP, if you can complete quests, but there is an alternative that doesn’t require flying all over the place, going from location to location for fetch quests, or dealing with other players stealing quest targets that you wereobviouslygoing for.
It might be boring, and it might be repetitive, but the most reliable way to level up in WoW SoD is to forego any open-world content and go straight to Blackrock Mountain.
There are three dungeons you can enter all from within the mountain: Blackrock Depths (50 to 55), Lower Blackrock Spire (55 to 58), and Upper Blackrock Spire (58 to Max Level). Having three level-appropriate dungeons all next to each other makes it incredibly easy to put on horse blinders and just grind out XP in instances for a few hours with a dedicated group. Plus, you don’t have to travel too far from the Searing Gorge flight point if you need to Hearth back to Stormwind or Ironforge and clear your inventory after a few runs – anda lot of new Runesare tied to these max level-ready dungeons.
If you get tired of running LBRS and UBRS at higher levels, take a detour for Stratholme and Scholomance, both of which are actually required for several runes, and you’re able to knock out both XP and Rune grinding. You’ll have to travel a bit, but the change in scenery can be refreshing for long grinds.
Though it’s still a good idea to attempt to go for Incursions XP until Level 53, and you might be able to convince your group to go for Sunken Temple too, running Dungeons over and over again is the safest and most reliable way to level in SoD P4. Just watch out for the enemy faction camping instance portals if you are on a PvP server, and don’t forget to set out a Cozy Sleeping Bag to keep that small XP buff alive.
