The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis one of the most important video games Nintendo had ever developed. The Wii U wasn’t the biggest success, and it was clear that Nintendo needed to bounce back with the Switch in a huge manner to become a major player in the console market once again. Thankfully, not only was the Nintendo Switch one of the most innovative consoles of all time, but the fact thatBreath of the Wildwas launched along with it boosted its sales immensely.

Throughout Link’s journey across the ravaged land of Hyrule, players will come across several weapons that will improve in both damage and efficiency. Regular weapons are pretty decent as is, but players will get special weapons that have everything from elemental properties to unique characteristics that make some of these arms quite important to use in the game.
7Woodcutter’s Axe
Cutting down trees to get wood is a great way to make impromptu campfires in no time at all. This resource is pretty valuable, and the Woodcutter’s Axe will prove to be invaluable for players who want to cut down trees with ease.
Other weapons take two strikes to bring a tree down, chipping away at their valuable durability in the process. Meanwhile, the Woodcutter’s Axe gets the job done in one goand is weak enough that players won’t use this weapon for anything else other than cutting trees down.

6Iron Sledgehammer
The Iron Sledgehammer is a simple weapon that doesn’t seem all that impressive at first glance. However, there’s one function it’s incredibly useful for, leading to many players keeping this weapon with them whenever required, even if it is not the best choice forthe strongest villains.

This Sledgehammer may be weak, but it breaks most ore and gem deposits in one shot. This makes it a valuable weapon that any player should keep handy if they don’t want to waste the durability of their more powerful weapons on these mineral deposits instead.
5A Wizzrobe Wand
The Wizzrobes aresome of the most annoying enemies in the game. They teleport and float around, making it hard to land a solid hit on them at times. Thankfully, fighting them is worth it if players want to get their hands on their unique wands.
These weapons are powered by either Fire, Ice, or Electric magic, allowing Link to use these elements to great effect in the relevant environmental puzzles or just decimate enemies with a string of well-placed spells! Players will be even happier if they get the more powerful variant of this weapon, allowing them to unleash multiple elemental orbs with a single flick.

4Unique Arrows
Ranged attacks are important to hit enemies who like staying out of Link’s melee range inBreath of the Wild. While regular arrows get the job done, there’s something to be said about the unique variants that hit for serious damage, thatmay cause some stressto be on the other side of it.
Fire, Ice, Electric, Bombs, and Ancient arrows are all extremely useful, with the latter being devastating and warping out regular enemies in one shot. If Link even finds himself in a tough spot, then whipping out a special arrow can turn the tide of battle in a flash.

3Weapons Imbued With Elemental Properties
Regular weapons are all pretty effective in their own right, with the tougher variants like any Lynel Weapon or the Royal weapons decimating the health bars of most enemies in record time. However, while these weapons are pretty useful in their own right, there’s something about the elemental weapons that make them incredibly special in their own right.

Players who know exactly when to manipulate a particular element while setting up their defenses can easily set most enemies on fire, freeze them, or shock them senseless. Not only does this make enemies easier to defeat, but it also makes players feel quite awesome asLink whoops their enemiesto kingdom come.
2Ancient Weapons
There are many tough Ancient enemies scattered acrossthe world ofBreath of the Wildwho can be pretty tough to deal with if players don’t know how to tackle these monstrosities. Dodging their lasers is downright impossible, and deflecting their lasers is possible… but the timing is so tight that it will take the player quite a few tries before getting things right.
This is why it’s important to keep a stash of Ancient Weapons handy to take out these foes in record time. They hit for extra damage against these foes, with even the imposing Guardian Stalker turning into a heap of metal after being struck by Link’s weaponry over and over again.

1A Good, Special Bow
While this may sound pretty obvious, the importance of a strong bow can’t be stated enough. After all, players are bound to have a ton of arrows asthey explore the world of Hyrule, but their damage is severely affected if players don’t have a good bow to unleash a volley of devastating arrows on their enemies.
Weapons like the Lynel Bow are especially treasured by fans who want to make the most of the special bonuses these weapons have, including the powerful multi-shot. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching one arrow split into several and turn enemies into walking pincushions!
