The Guardians are hostile automata that players encounter throughoutBreath of the Wild. Originally meant to protect Hyrule and its citizens, the Guardians are corrupted by Calamity Ganon and become hostile machines that harm those unfortunate enough to encounter them. Players can defeat Guardians and obtain the aforementioned Guardian Sword, and several variants that increase the sword’s stats. Luckily, it seems as though Guardians and other similar technologies could be absent fromTears of the Kingdom, but no official confirmation has been provided. Although the machines will likely not be returning,longtime series antagonist Ganondorfwill be.

One impatientThe Legend of Zeldafan, PiercedOtter, shared an incredible replica of the Guardian Sword, which they created from stained-glass, on Reddit. The replica is a Guardian Sword++, the strongest variant of the Guardian weapon. The stained-glass replica is incredibly accurate toBreath of the Wild, and serves as the latestimpressive Guardian-centric artwork from a fan. While some fans hated the inclusion of the machine enemies inBreath of the Wild, some fans seem hopeful to see them return.

Commenters on PiercedOtter’s post shared their enthusiasm for the incredible stained-glass replica, as well as some jokes about the Guardian Sword. Among these jokes are numerous “durability low” comments, a reference to theweapon durability system fromBreath of the Wildthat many fans disliked. While the comments range from humorous to congratulatory, what’s apparent is that PiercedOtter’s work is remarkable in the eyes ofThe Legend of Zeldafans.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis releasing soon, and many fans are eager to get into the open-world gameplay style thatBreath of the Wildbrought to the franchise. While some fans are already dreading the return of weapon durability systems, others are looking forward to the returning aspects such as thelong-awaited Ganondorf return.
