Updated on June 10, 2025, by Bronwyn Lee:Players have had plenty of time to explore Tears of the Kingdom since its release. In this time, more and more ways to increase Link’s Slip Resistance have been uncovered. Slip Resistance is incredibly helpful for navigating the wetter areas in the game, such as Zora’s Domain, or many of the caves. With Slip Resistance being vital for exploring certain areas, players should make sure they’re fully prepared, and know the best ways to increase it. They can find some of the most effective methods of increasing Link’s Slip Resistance here.

3Slip Resistant Armor
There isonly one armor setinTears of the Kingdomthat will give Link Slip Resistance, and that’s theFroggy Armor Set. Each piece has its own level of Slip Resistance and has a base defense level of 3. The Froggy Armor Set is a rare Armor in the game and requires quite a lot of work to acquire.
How to Get Froggy Armor
It’s likely that as players are wandering around Hyrule, they’ll notice NPCs reading newspapers at the stables. These newspapers come from theLucky Clover Gazette, which has taken over what was known as the Rito Stable. Players can find this establishmentjust outside of Rito Village. Once there, players should speak to Traysi, and she will allow the player to pick up their own side hustle: journalism! This will start the’Potential Princess Sightings' side adventure. From here, players will have access to 12 different side quests that will provide them with all sorts of lucrative awards. One of these awards is the Froggy Armor Set.

The Froggy Armor Set can be incredibly useful, making it much easier to climb cliffs during the rain. It won’t totally prevent the player from slipping, but it makes it much more manageable. Each piece of the Armor Set providesone level of Slip Resistance, going all the way up to three levels. Players can earn each armor piece bycompleting a certain number of storiesfor the Lucky Clover Gazette:
To start a story, players will need to hunt down Pennat various stables- sometimes, he can be a bit more hidden away, and the player will need to look around for him. He will then give the player the brief and send them on their way to sniff out the story.

Where To Find Penn
Penn can be found at the following stables inTears of the Kingdom:
Froggy Armor Set Upgrades
Once the player has unlocked both the Froggy Armor Set and at least one of the Great Fairy Fountains, they will be able to upgrade the armor, increasing its effectiveness. Luckily, each Froggy Armor piece requires the same upgrades, which are listed below.
2Sticky Elixir
Unfortunately, there’s only one recipe inTears of the Kingdomthat will provide the player with Slip Resistance, and that is the Sticky Elixir. This recipe can be made using up to four Sticky Lizards or Sticky Frogs and a monster part.Different monster partshave different effects, and the rarer they are, the more likely they will increase the Elixir’s potency and make it last longer.
For example, using four Sticky Frogs and a standard Bokoblin Horn, the Sticky Elixir will provide high-level Slip Resistance for nine minutes and ten seconds. Sticky Lizards and Sticky Frogs can sometimes be quite difficult to get ahold of, so here is where players can find them.

Sticky Lizard Locations
Sticky Lizards can commonly be found in many of theunderground cavesinTears of the Kingdom. They’re speedy little things and are quick to startle, which makes them pretty difficult to catch. The best way to approach them is as stealthily as possible. Players can equip some Stealth Armor, orcook some Stealthy recipes, to make it much easier to sneak up on them.

If this is too difficult, players can instead head toSouth Akkala Stableand buy some from Beedle. They are pretty pricey, at 32 Rupees each, but it’s a price worth paying.
Sticky Frog Locations
Players can find Sticky Frogs clinging to different surfaces, often in wet conditions. They’re most commonlyfound in West Necludaand Lanayru Great Spring. It can be a bit easier to catch Sticky Frogs compared to Sticky Lizards, as they’re a bit slower and less aware. However, players should still try to sneak up on them as carefully as they can, as the frogs will run away if they realize the player is there.
An alternative way to acquire Sticky Frogs inTears of the Kingdomis to head to eitherEast Akkala Stable or Lakeside Stableand speak to Beedle. He will be selling these frogs for 40 Rupees each - a price worth paying for some Slip Resistance.

1Explore Alternatives
If players ever find themselves without any Sticky Elixirs or haven’t unlocked the Froggy Armor Set yet, there are other ways to combat the rain inTears of the Kingdom. One alternative is to usetheir Ultrahand abilityto create a ramp using nearby materials; this can be used to climb some of the way up without using their stamina. Alternatively, players could start a fire underneath the ramp and sleep to wait out the rain instead.
Players can also attempt to offset the Stamina they’ll lose by cooking some dishes that willboost their Stamina Wheelsback up. There are plenty of recipes for this, so players don’t have to worry about not having certain ingredients. Beating the rain is easy, players just need to get a little bit creative with their solutions.
