One eagle-eyed fan spots that the download card forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomprovides another look at two new characters that were recently introduced. Both of these characters were first seen inthe third trailer forTears of the Kingdom, alongside the other champion descendants and other key figures of the story like Zelda and Ganondorf. However, these characters were given another look in a different context through a set of Switch downloadable game cards that have been released in Japan.Unlike the Switch download cards in regions like the Americas, the Japanese eShop download cards for games are a little bit more artistic. The one forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, for example, folded out to include the entire game’s launch roster, along with some brief in-game screenshots. The same can be said forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s download card, which features some screenshots of the game, albeit on the small side.RELATED:Next Splatoon 3 Splatfest is Based on Zelda: Tears of the KingdomThis card was first found by Twitter user Kirbtastic16, who spotted the card on a rack in Japan. From there, she had taken a picture of the inside of the card, which contained a variety of gameplay images. This includes the two new characters introduced in the third trailer, who fans have been speculating on their role and where they appear inTears of the Kingdom’s story. The one with the animal-like ears and strange arm is theorized to be a member of the mysterious Zonai tribe. The white-haired Zelda lookalike on the other hand has a variety of theories, from her being the goddess Hylia, Zelda in disguise, or someone else entirely.

The other screenshots in this download card also provide some other interesting story bits. There’s a look atTears of the Kingdom’s version of Ganondorf, where it shows him as a shriveled-up corpse before his body has been fully restored and has him casting his dark magic. Zelda can also be seen from a slightly different angle from the trailer, where she is climbing a mountain while carrying the Master Sword. Finally, the bottom half of this Switch download card features a set of wall carvings, which depict something mysterious.

There’s less than a month before the game hits store shelves, and Nintendo has provided tons of information that has gotten fans running wild with theories. One fan was even able topinpoint where Zelda was in the latestTears of the Kingdomtrailer, based on the clues provided. Needless to say, fans are very hyped to see what these two new characters and Ganondorf will bring to the table this time around.
